He reminds me of the Praying Mantis that hangs out in our backyard. It looks like the image below:

Pretty darn big for a Praying Mantis, nearly 6 inches, but I think Joe Chee outweighs him. There's gotta be some muscle on Joe somewhere.

Hartenstein is more talented than Black. He is more advanced than Zhou. He can move fairly quickly on
the court. Much better than Nanu too.

Reminds me of this Chinese folk story:

Well, he was 4-4 with the Vipers tonight. Finished with 32pts 15rbs.

The guy has been absolutely beasting with Vipers. I know we have Farried now, but considering how young this guy is, I think he still has a chance to make it in the NBA.

Once his upper body fills out and his motor improves he can be a solid backup. Probaly two more years away but he is improving

Lack of speed is his biggest problem.

I like that he was dunking everything...... I thought was a weakness in his early games..... seemed like he didn’t wanna jump or couldn’t jump.....

Maybe he’s starting to understand what will get him on the court with the big boys......

I don’t think he rotation ready but against weaker/younger teams I absolutely believe he should get some run...... I think a lot of his problems are because he’s being out experienced..... veteran nba bigs feast on inexperienced bigs.....

He gets some veteran savvy, I think he can be a solid big in the league..... even with the lack of speed or quickness..... not sure which one it is yet that he’s missing.....

I’m not sure it’s speed bro..... sometimes he looks pretty fast for a big (in spurts)... I think his posture has a lot to do with some of his shortcomings.... sometimes he just looks downright clumsy.... and he runs funny like Ariza

When Morey was on fox few days ago, also said that they hope some of the young guys will develop and help going forward, i guess Hartenstein is the first guy on that list, he has the talent to be a good player in the nba, just need some playing time.

One of the most important aspects in talent evaluation is rate of improvement. For young players, that is almost more important than how good they actually are at the moment.

Hartenstein has shown incredible improvement in his g league play from last year to this year. That alone should bode well for his future prospects.

He's just awkward and if he can learn his body and do what he can while avoiding what he can't athletically he will be good. Remember he's only 20 and bigs take longer.

Yep, and he's also coming from Europe so, different kind of game. Took three years to D.Mo to become actually playable, Zubac started doing something in his third season...just to name a couple of guys now. Hartenstein looks like a guys who can definitely become a good rotation player.
