Just met and chatted with Isiah Cannan and his girl just now at HEB in Pearland he was waiting to get some free samples haha, pretty cool down to earth guy. Says he working harder on his game more than before and trying to get back on with the Rockets.
Isaiah - When your 2017 signing was announced, I was somewhere between disappointment, and indifference. When your 2017 release was announced, I was somewhere between indifference, and pity. It was a great ride.
Always sounds like a great guy who genuinely loves the city, hope he can find a permament gig sometime in the future.
Gordon hayward esque? Hes not a marquee player, suns not losing anything but still sheesh whats with the recent string of injuries lately?
Although it looks like Hayward is making a speedy recovery, doing light shootarounds already. Hope that's encouraging for Canaanballs.
I saw it happen too, and I thought immediately of Hayward's injury. This one did look bad - his left leg was laying flat. My heart went out to him because he was finding his niche there in PHX. The thing that struck me was how calm he seemed, but he was probably in a state of shock.
Canaan is on a one year/ $ 1 million contract, so it's a lot worse than Hayward's injury for him, in that regard. Hope he fully recovers.
It does suck obviously. The little I remember he seemed like a nice guy too. But I would assume he has made a few hundred thousand already. And if can keep 700k of this contract he should be ok.
Every time I see an injury like this I think to myself "well I hope this dude knew how to save money"
