Btw: Pretty sure having operating rights on the TC essentially makes him owner on revenue outside of basketball, and isn't covered under BRI revenue sharing. That would include all other events, concessions, parking at TC. I think that is one of the main reasons it sold for a record high, on top of the Rockets org being top 5 in league revenue.
Yeah, w/ the amount of revenue he'll be bringing in the 70% thing won't matter. And if for some reason it did (it won't), he could easily add partners I bet (he also won't).
Not yet. It depends. If the following happens, then yes he is in deep financial trouble 1. We trade away our first round pick. Is Tilman cash-strapped? 32 We had $3.5 million to spend tonight time buy a pick or to move up in the second round at least. We left it on the table. Didn't make a move up while other teams that we have to beat (Warriors) spent the money and bought themselves talent.
i dunno about you guys but if i spent 2 billion dollars on anything i'd be broke as ****! rockets fans should be very concerned.
This isn't like doing a line off a hooker. This is an investment that should have self sustaining revenue. It will shock you to learn that most business either borrow or spend their fortune on their business in hopes to have it produce in the future. So long story short, if the Rockets fail then maybe, if not then no. Either way I think he has more than enough money for living expenses.
Everyone who is concerned can meet at Landry's in Katy (since they all evacuated) and buy as much food as they can to help the new chief out!
Even if he is, he'll make it back two-fold with all his restaurant installments once he's got Toyota Center all Landry'd up!
Nah, he's not in trouble. From what I've seen he has very little in the way of debt, and outside investment in his empire, and tends to keep a disproportionately large amount of cash on hand. Thus, it's not like he needs the Rockets to start generating revenue ASAP to pay off whatever loan he took to buy them. His empire can bankroll the loan if necessary. It'd be different if he was asset rich and cash poor.
