I posted early in the season that we should have sold high on parsons and that i thought he was a good role player worth 6 million a year, but many other contended that he was worth 10 to 12 a year, around what batum got, that he was better than gordon hayward, and that we could win a championship with him as a third star.

i thought it better to save that 10 to 12 million and use it towards and real star like rondo.

so how far has his stock dropped? he's been exposed.

I think Morey will trade Parsons, his offense is Ok, but his defense is dropping one year after one year, we really need a 3D specialist who should be a lock down sf/sg

His stock has not dropped and he has not been exposed. He will still get 10 million or more on his next contract. He might get traded, but the Rockets would rather acquire a third star and then reward parsons with a new contract.

Parsons has never been that third star... Stop with the hype. Parsons game 2 and game 3 compared to his game 1 is exactly what kind of player he is.

We really need a 3 & D guy next to Harden. Parson's defense is not cutting it. You think Portland will do a Batum for Asik + parson deal? Portland can really use Asik next to Aldridge.

it took getting a 6th foul for mchale's golden boy to finally get benched. if parsons played that entire OT, we don't win this game.

and in the same exact vein, there will always be a handful of teams (namely utah, minnie, boston, indy) for which parsons is a very desirable player to fit their mold and help sell season ticket packages. my guess is his market would be about $8M at this point.

That's what I kept trying to tell everyone.

Parsons is not a star. He's a very good role player. I was calling for that trade to be made with the Celtics numerous times because Rondo was that third star to be had.

Now we can try and either trade Parsons in the offseason with much less value OR we can reup him and make him our big name free agent re-signing this offseason
Those are the only two options. Cause we all know Morey isn't going to just let him walk for no assets in return.

Where is parson's offense in clutch time?

This playoff spells the end of Freelance (moreyball) offense.

Of course Parsons will again play D after he receives a big contract. He's just expanding his offensive game first, which is the logical order for young players anyhow. He can amp up the effort on defense anytime.

    Are you being sarcastic???

Don't you think the playoffs would be a great time to amp up your defense?

Parsons' upside is Prince/Ariza, a good complementary player you cannot rely on for consistent playmaking. It's a gross mistake by the coaching stuff to make him the 2nd playmaker on this team ahead of Beverley who is ahead of Lin.

I agree with this. I vehemently supported trading for Rondo in the Rondo trade thread. If Ainge really wanted Parsons, Lin, and Asik for Rondo and the Rockets didn't do it simply because of Parsons then they made a grave mistake. A huge mistake.

Parsons is a great role player, can hit the open shots but can't create and is a huge liability on defense. He's honestly just not that athletic. A star he is not.

Rondo isn't the answer LOL where do you get that idea? PGs are the easiest commodities in the league to acquire, our Pat Bev, Lin and Canaan have shown you can get solid pgs without breaking the bank unless you happen to have superstar level guy like CP3 paying 10M+ for a pg isn't worth it when 3M can give you a guy 80% as good. You have to stop with this obsession with "big names" Rondo is at his best with the ball on his hands becauss he's not a good shooter...whoops we have Harden as the first perimeter option already so what good is he gonna do?

If anything what this series has shown is we need a Batum type of guy, somebody who can defend and yet still eb that glue that contributes a little of everything. Parsons was supposed to be that guy but with his recent performance I don't know how much his stock has dropped.

Alot of people here have VERY short memories. Everyone forgets what he did last postseason?

You know, I think Harden has been "exposed", he's played terribly for the most part in this series. Should we trade him?

Parsons is not an all-star. So what? He's a very good complimentary player who has good nights more often than bad and can light you up if you aren't careful. and he's cheap. If we're lucky we can keep him and get a discount for this recent "exposure", whatever that means.
