Is it safe to say Jose Altuve will be the greatest Astro 2nd baseman of all time?

Jose Altuve delivered a championship to the city. He's already the greatest 2nd baseman in Astros history. His stats are insane and he's a champion now. That's what its all about, I know biggio fan boys have a hard time parting with him.

Altuve is the already the greatest 2nd baseman ever, he performs in the regular season and is money in the postseason, perfect player.

I think he needs to sign an extension to lock it down. Watching him play a decade in another uniform and possibly not have an Astros hat on his HOF plaque would be painful.

    Still stands... GOATuve

Correa is capable of passing him, but Altuve is the man until.

Honestly I think Jose is not only already the best 2B in Astros history but already the best player in Astros history. He did what nobody else could deliver a Championship to the city! Not only that but he was the MVP and has been with the team thruout the ride from the worst in the league to the best in world.

Hopefully we can keep him for a long time and he can retire an Astro.

As much as I love Biggio he was great because he was a great player for a long time... Biggio was never the best player in the league. Bagwell was the best player in the league for a season but he couldn't ever deliver the big one.

And it's not like Altuve was just there for the ride. He had clutch hits the entire postseason and was as big apart of us winning the World Series as anyone.

In fact I think Jose has reached near Hakeem status as far as Houston all time greats go. Until he gets two he won't be on Dreams level but when he does Jose might go down as the GOAT Houston athlete.

Let's bring this thread back in 2 years if Boras uses the Astros as a pawn again and take Altuve to NYC or LA.

I doubt the excitement about Altuve's greatness will be the same...

Jeff Kent is offended. But again... it's really easy to offend Jeff Kent.

In all seriousness, name one other team that has a better legacy of second baseman

Greatest Astro ever until perhaps Correa wins multiple MVPs and another World Series title. Crane needs to lock up Altuve. I never want to see him anywhere else. He needs to retire an Astro and go into the Hall of Fame an Astro. So proud of Altuve. His growth as a player and a leader has been incredible.

All he lacks at this time is tenure.

He's already mastered the "swing at everything down and away". Or just "away".

You posting this right after a post about Biggio's overuse of cliches, is itself, a cliche.

Sorry, just trying to be a team player and teach the young guys how to play the game the right way.
