I'm holding out hope he can still help the team. He's been injured. The fans in Sacramento really thought highly of him.

We don't need him play big minutes. Just play some high energy defense and be a halfway decent shooter.

He's depth at guard. No need to wish he'd take Eric Gordon's role or something obscene like that. He's a backup with finals experience.

I’m not taking a side here but just to note, Ennis is no rookie. He’s been to the playoffs and actually played pretty well against Kawhi in the series I watched.

His defense will come in handy as he gets healthy . I don’t think the kings fans and their head coach were upset for no reason when he got traded . He’s been garbage but it’s not a big enough sample size ! Have faith !

Wednesday vs the Warriors could be Shumperts “welcome to Houston” game. Have a feeling he makes big defensive plays on the splash bros and the snake.

I'm worried about this guy. Never mind the bad shooting. He's supposed to be a defensive asset, but he looks totally confused about when to stay with his man, when to switch, and where to rotate. It's not his fault, he just seems at sea in a switching defense. Like it goes against his nature. Only 15 games left to get him oriented.

On the bright side: I'm glad he's getting more minutes now to work it out. And he might be a huge help in getting to Steph and Klay around screens.

But is he supposed to get around screens when we are switching?

Yep, this is already an issue. He's chasing his man and confusing teammates who expect him to switch.

OTOH, our switching defense kind of sucks at dealing with the Warriors' quick-screen-and-shot offense. So in that situation, Shumpert's strategy would be better ... which probably means they'll set up the play with screens to make sure he's not the one chasing Steph or Klay for the contest.

I believe there was an article posted here about how he liked to defense straight up and not switch...some kind of Chicago thing...I dunno.

You guys seem to expect a seemless.. segue through injury/transition to our D mid stream...

What matters, is that he's up to speed before the playoffs.

Having this guy healthy..and in step w/all...is a massive addition.
    He hasn't "lost it".

Without rancor this time: it's depressing how much people rag on the guy. He's one of the Rockets! I support Shumpert 100% and I think he had a good first half last night.

Few believed in you and the rockets at 35-1 months ago sir.

Look at all of them now. Trying to find a seat to ride the train at that 8-1 ;)
