Is Cp3's contract partially justified by his potential and ability to be a locker room leader?

I think he's one of the only players in the league that Harden will defer to (and consult with) and depending on what youth we may acquire these next 2/3 years, he may put some of these youngbloods on some knowledge to improve their ceilings/abilities.

    Thoughts?

Harden won’t be defering to cp3 in his current decline street state on the court and nor should he as he is right now by far the best offensive player in the league.Chris biggest value will be as the secondary ball handler when teams throw the kitchen sink at harden and not let Gordon make decisions with the ball. I’m comfortable with Eric taking a big shot but his decision making as a playmaker sometimes is suspect

That’s the main thing he has going and it doesn’t justify his contract. Leadership comes from current ability and success more than past success. Harden won’t defer to him and players will defer to Harden over Paul because of his ability.

How many youngbloods do we have that we realistically expect to develop? In my opinion only Capela and House when he’s playing. We don’t have talented young players.

I appreciate the optimism but it’s impossible to justify the Paul contract.

No. 45 mil a year is for players who have both and then some.

Last year maybe. This year Harden has really stepped up into that leadership role and I’d be more than okay with him as the sole leader if it meant getting that money back.

Fa*kkk no. One of the most immovable contracts in the NBA by the start of his 3rd year. I pray to God that I am wrong.

Leaders often take pay cuts for the good of the team and winning a ring.
