I don't watch the d league...any chance he can come alive for us late in the season like Capela did? All he needs to do is box out and set good screens.
I bet Dekker will pick up the minutes, unless we start getting slaughtered inside. Then, I'd presume Trez gets the minutes over Nanu.
which is silly because Nanu is a much better interior defender than Trez.. and rebounder. Heck, he might even be the best interior defender on our team.
He has looked good when I've seen him (which isn't much), but I'm sure MDA has good reason to not trust him yet. I think Trez's energy and athleticism could cause problems for the Spurs, though (similar with Dekker). I hope one or both of those guys start getting some minutes. ... I wouldn't mind seeing Nanu get minutes, though. I think he's worth a shot from what I've seen. And not gonna lie, I kinda just want to see him make some granny shot FTs in front of the SA crowd.
why is it silly. Trez is in line before Nanu. i don't see anything difficult about that when he hasn't shown anything to be in the rotation over Trez. Trez dominated the D league just like Nanu so what
i think that is silly because in a situation like that, trez does not help at all with interior defense or rebounding. i like harrel and he should definitely get some minutes, but it's more for giving a different option on offense. also he would get eaten alive by the likes of alridge and pau.
what previous comment? one guy isn't solving an interior defense or rebounding no matter who it is especially a rookie or guy who hasn't played in an actual playoff game let alone real tested nba games. The rockets do it as a collection not individual.
I've been following Onuaku's development all season, and I'd encourage you to look up those posts as I've included plenty of video clips. He's very raw, but in the right matchup, he's the right guy. I think he would give us some off the ball screens for Eric Gordon, and he's surprisingly effective as a high post passer. All of that would keep Gasol honest and busy. That's 5 or 6 minutes of energy in the second quarter, but that's as far as I'd go. I'd love it if Onuaku had the confidence to uncork some of his outlet passes and the rest of his game, but we're likely waiting till next season to see that. I'm glad that Decker had a chance to get his feet wet in a home playoff game. We're going to have to count on some production out of him.
You can't teach 7 feet. We'll get roasted inside if we're relying on Anderson and Harrell to protect the rim. At least Chinanu is a warm body.
SMDH at anyone who says Chinanu is ready for even backup minutes ...IN THE PLAYOFFS ...AGAINST THE FREAKIN' SPURS. Seriously, the only reason Nanu should even enter the game is if we need to intentionally foul someone and everyone else on the active roster is sitting on 5 fouls.
Id rather see dekker at the 5 running up and down and going downhill on pau at the top while fronting him and Lamarcus on the defensive end.
7 ft means nothing if you're not an actual difference maker first. so in this case saying 7 feet is pretty irrelevant
He is definitely not ready. He has no business playing any sort of meaningful minutes in a playoff game, especially against opponents like SA and GS.
