Different article...And it is a solid analysis of the potential matchups/cross matchups the Rockets will employ

Harden greatest strength, getting to the paint and score is much erased by DeAndre.

Sometime I wonder, in a game where Howard is struggling (or when he's resting), it might be a good strategy to go small (sit Howard) and intentionally foul DeAndre to get him off the floor leaving Rockets vs Clippers w/o much of any paint protection on both sides. That might be an advantage toward the Rockets given it would help Harden tremendously and it shouldn't help the Clippers as much.

Surely that will allow Blake to go nuts inside?? This is a tough matchup however we look at it. I can see us putting Ariza/Brewer on CP3 at all times and try and keep him checked with length.

But we got nobody to stop/slow down Blake. I mean if Duncan himself (top 10 all-time defender in his day, like top 5 now)couldn't do it, what hope does Jones/Smith have??

I think Howard if he stays out of foul trouble and neutralize the impact Jordan has on Harden. He can't guard both Harden and Howard. If Harden gets past his man and Jordan steps up, who's going to guard Dwight?

If Blake helps then the key will become the outside shooting of Josh Smith and Terrance Jones. For this reason, I think Jones is going to be key here.

    Myth.

Duncan has been a great help defender but he has never been a top 10 all-time one on one defender, which is what we are discussing here in terms of guarding Griffin one-on-one.

Even in his prime, players like David West, Amare Stoudamire, and Pau Gasol have scored plenty on him against his one-on-one defense in the playoffs.

Even when the Spurs were known as mostly a defensive team, their best one-on-one defender was Bruce Bowen, not Tim Duncan. Tim has been their best help defender.

Capela is our secret weapon :)

No one stop Blake.. Just contain him to points. Much more concerns about their shooters and Harden effectiveness.

I actually think Smith will be our X factor because his defense will be effective against Blake.

I really want James to attack relentlessly. Even if DeAndre stops him at the rim a few times, getting him (or whichever wing defender is trying to stop him) in foul trouble is enormous since they lack so much depth.

Blake with a boatload of assists, their shooters went off and Harden wasn't his effective self.

I don't understand why they double Blake so early and often. I would have contained everyone else and double only towards end when everyone else outside of Blake is cold.
