I hate to agree with Ingram, but when he's right, he's right. McHale is a moron and coaching choice has been Morey's biggest weakness.
Yes. Morey completely gutted this team to get Dwight and now they are left with a crappy roster that is much better than their record because McHale is a terrible coach.

Bill Ingram Good question to end on. I have been more than critical of Morey over the years, mostly because I’m tired of my home town team sucking year after year after year. He made a terrible coaching hire, spent years trying to build his team in the image of a baseball team that has never won a title, and when he finally figured out that you have to have two superstars to be a postseason success, he had to scrap the team in order to sign the second one. What he hasn’t realized yet is that Dwight Howard is not a champion, and that fielding a team that won’t defend is only going to get you bounced in the first round. If you can figure out why people think Morey is so smart let me know. I’m completely stymied by it. He drafts well, especially in the second round, and the Harden move was outstanding. So he says that he's angry with the team because they sucked for years and years, but now that they have a good roster (forget that Morey was hamstrung by the albatross contracts of T-Mac and Yao), we should fire Morey because it took him too long to build a good team? And also, we should fire McHale because that good roster is clearly better than his ability to coach? My head hurts from the idiocy.

WOW, Bill Ingrahm's first quote reads like something I wrote in the fire Mchale thread and Peter recommends the same coaches we did. Wonder if these guys read Clutchfans? Anyway I'm starting to warm up to Mchale the players really like him and they seem happy, Casspi in particular said he loves the way West teams run the ball and don't have a set offense to keep defenses on their toes. That being said a great coach mixes things up and they have great timing. I just think if we are going to win a Chip we need a better coach, Mchales good for now though IMO.
i kind of disagree with ingram, I feel that Both Les & Dmorey are gamblers. Their view on things are completely out of the box. Being at the for front of ideas, a person will always get critized. Ie: Columbus thought the world was round, ppl laughed at him but when he started going out to sea he was vindicated. I can see that both Les and Morey are vindicated as a lot of other Clubs are doing the same thing. Phil/Pho/Sac - it just shows you that Dmorey is at the forefront and is pushing the envelope. Sure it is a gamble and you win some then you loose some but over all the ingenuity of it all is quiet impressive.
