I've never seen or heard of this movie before but from this trailer it looks a film promoting police brutality. (Especially the part where they place the innocent driver in the boot of his vehicle). In this current environment when minorities such as Michael Brown and Eric Garner being the victims of such brutality from a police force- I don't think a film like this is in good taste.
The first one was great. At first, I couldn't understand why they'd need to finance this themselves. They made the original for $1.2M and it made $23M at the Box Office. Seems like a pretty good return on investment. And then it became a cult classic after that. And people like Beerfest too. It didn't make too much profit ($20M on a $17M) budget. But it did make money. But I guess it didn't make enough, especially after Club Dredd lost money. And then The Slammin Salmon (which I didn't think was bad) apparently only made $45,000 in theaters. I wasn't aware of that and I guess that's why they haven't made a movie since and why they can't find a studio to fund this.
The Zach Braff flick would have been great if it weren't a direct rip off of his first film (Garden State). I love this whole crowd sourcing stuff. They need to start one for Beerfest 2, Potfest, and then Beerfest 3: Revenge of Landfill's Ghost.
Loved the first one but it's been awhile. Hopefully the script is good. The comedy sequel I want to see the most is "Spaceballs 3, The search for Spaceballs 2"
God in heaven, ignorant post is ignorant. See the first flick, then comment on it. Farva is far from innocent, and you would know that if you actually saw the movie. Oh, and he's a cop if you didn't notice from his shirt. So it's police brutality, that isn't really brutality, on another cop.
Or did he get Hutted? Nope. I did. God damn it, too much caffeine makes me a rageaholic. Good one sir.
I'm 90% sure this movie will suck but the first was awesome (for the first 75% of the movie at least) that I'm in for the sequel and would love to be proved wrong.
Thinking very seriously about springing for a couple tickets to the Austin screening. Would be a fun trip for my older brother and me.
