My opinion sucks. I wouldn't need that much, to be honest. 150k-200k total.

    If you have to ask...

I would say when you can spend whatever you want and still earn more than that in interest you are probably rich.

    Maybe $1 million/year?

I've never really thought about it, but making 1 million every year would probably make me look at someone and think they're rich.

    Didn't we have this poll.

If you make 34k you are the top 1% of the world.

    Being "rich" is all relative.

I am young, not married and I don't have any kids. $100k per year would be rich for me.

I think in Houston as soon as you crack 6 figures, your bordering on well off.

I have a wife and a newborn and even then making $100k would be more money than I'd know what to do with.

But to be rich, a yearly salary of 200k-500k makes you rich. You go into the millions and you're filthy rich.

basing this off of single life or marriage life?

    Well Off
    Single: $100k/yr Family $250K/yr

    Rich
    $500k/yr $1.2M/yr

    Wealthy
    $2M/yr $5M/yr

but of course to each their own.

I'd say when you can live off of your passive income, you've entered the world of "rich"

I don't think you can be called "rich" unless you have absolutely ZERO debt and no mortgage.

if you rely on your job to keep up your standard of living, you're not rich. the man who can live off of passive income is rich.

No debt, no mortage, no car note and 250k per year is rich. (Unless you have little parasites known as kids.. then you need to double that amount for each kid)
