I've seen a LOT of really good shows, but I'm sad I missed Pink Floyd and Led Zep. I was old enough, but yet young enough to not have the sense of urgency. My three biggest regrets though are Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. GREAT music from these acts, and two of the greatest rock voices and one of the greatest blues guitarists.

Pantera and Death. Two of my guitar idols cut down by disease and gunfire.

i was there. john frusciante had just quit RHCP, which was a let-down. duck soup ruled the day! zendick farm cult members were there trying to sell their bands cassette tapes the whole time. thats about all i remember about it.

my picks would be buddy holly, maggot brain-era funkadelic, 70's era walon or the big boys, who were the first punk-funk band and RHCP used to open for and basically stole their shtick from. big boys were also the first skate rock band and the first punk band to incorporate hip-hop and turntable scratching into their music (pre-beastie boys)...true innovators and texans!

did anyone else go to that nirvana show at the astroarena - december 1993? it was just a few months before he killed himself. i was actually more into the breeders and wouldnt have even gone if they werent there, but nirvana really was good. an impressively powerful live band. it was on a school night and i had to get up at like 6 the next morning and almost left after the breeders! what as dumbass - i would have regretted that for the rest of my life!!! im not going to claim to be a huge nirvana fan, but its cool to get to say i saw them.

I was there.....I was much more into Pearl Jam at the time. But then I saw them both (Pearl Jam in Nacogdoches), and the pendulum swung. Not that Pearl Jam was bad, but that Nirvana show was just awesome.

if i 'member correctly, nirvana, smashing pumpkins and pearl jam all played the vatican within a couple weeks of each other in fall 91. and they were all on school nights when i was still in high school so i could not go to any. crazy that nevermind, gish and ten all came out around the same time. those three bands came out of nowhere and changed the game in a matter of months.

    got off my lawn!
