In retrospect, did Chris Bosh make the right choice?

    Per Bill Simmons:

    Thoughts?

Do the Heat have as good a chance at making a title run as what Houston would have had if Bosh signed? Maybe, maybe not. I think it depends on the health of Dwight and Wade, neither of which is close to a certainty at this point.

But one thing that Bosh did get, and the only thing that a free agent can guarantee for himself, is a bunch of extra money to stay in Miami vs. moving to Houston.

At the time it was a money grab. Now with the turn of events mentioned, it also wasn't a bad basketball decision either, as it looked at the time it happened.

CB did make the right choice, he already has 2 rings and Miami would pay him almost 30M per year. Not sure what you or BS are talking about contention, Miami would still get destroyed if they played in the West.

    LOLwut?!?

At the moment, even with their alleged 20/20 center (he is 10 and 9), Miami is just barely hanging on to 8th spot, and that is in the East. They are 22-30, just barely ahead of the 12th paced Pacers (21-33).

Sure, adding Dragic will help some, but even with Dwight unhealthy, the Rockets have been keeping top 4 pace in the 'real' conference (the West). Wake me up IF the Heat break .500 this season.

    They are 22-30.

How many wins does Dragic gain them?

Financially, yes. To win another championship, no. They're 8 games under .500 at this point.

It's still going to be terrible. Especially if Dragic gets the 5 year max.

What if Dragic tears his ACL this weekend? Can't get hung up on injuries.

Bosh wanted to stay in Miami and make an extra 20 mil. He did that, so yes, it was the right choice. Good for him.

A part of the equation, though, is that they don't play in the West. There are still top teams in the East, but not like the West, where basically teams 1-8 (including OKC here) are going to be 50+ wins caliber teams or better. Much better chance of winning a couple of playoff rounds if you catch the right match-up or has the right injury luck in a series.

Hmm, interesting, the other nice point is that Miami definitely has an easier schedule and can even afford to be sub .500 in the east and still make the playoffs... I think either situation would have been good though. Obviously for us Bosh might have changed some things, but houston would still be lacking at PG, then again maybe it'd be okay.

Clown article. We're still better than them with Dragic and without Dwight.

In terms of winning? Not even close lol, Dragic improves their team but does not make them a contender.

No, they have no chance of contending.

But what if Dragic doesn't tear his ACL? He might improve them to the point they can play .500 ball the rest of the season?? If a team 9-12 wins 1 more game than them, they still miss out...

But I agree, TAAAAKE the $30million. Good choice. He already did the championship thing, now do the cash thing.

I don't think bosh cares. He's got two rings and a max contract. Also he's living in Miami. My guess is him and his family enjoy Miami and he's loyal to his team *for the right price* I'm glad he stayed but not gonna lie it would of been awesome to see him
In houston but he's living the good life right now.

Is this a question of who the better team is? The rockets are already significantly better then the Heat w/ bosh. Obviously you take him away from them and put him here and it's even more ridiculous.
