Jimmy is from the Houston area. This isn't a sign of anything.

Obviously you didn't look at the picture. It's old but definitely a sign.

Don’t do it man. Stay level. You’re gonna be letdown.
Money isn’t the best in Houston.
He’s tight with Harden but he’s tight with a lot of people. Best friends with Kyrie. That whole USA team few years back were tight.
And Philly would have to work with us. And probably a third team because Philly don’t want Capela.

@YaoMing#1 capela may be playable but not for us. Don’t see how he stays if Jimmy is in a sign and trade

Pretty sure Gordon/Nene gets us there for Butler’s current contract that he would be opting into. And then we would handshake super duper max him next offseason.

If you look at the total value of all salary tax free, it is in fact the best money he can get. That’s why Daryl Morey is so confident.

Butler ain’t from the Houston area bud. He’s from TOMBALL. There is a difference.

You know I don't buy Jimmy Buckets to Houston …. but with this CP3 stuff …. Maybe they take him in return (do they have a contract they want to dump ?).

Buckets for SeePee3 would be the best possible outcome for the Rockets this offseason , assuming they didn't have to give up Tucker / Capela in the process.

Can't wait for a reporter to ask

"James Butler, how does it feel coming back home to Houston?"

    :D

"I'm not from Houston. I'm from Tomball."

How is Capela not playable for us?

Didn’t we have the 2nd best offense in the league this year? And didn’t he avg 17/13 this year?

I’d love to hear your reasoning.

He’s really good at running pick and roll.

If we acquired Butler we would have 3 players who excel in pick and roll and Capela for all his faults is still one of the best roll bigs in the league.

I meant he wouldn’t be playable for us because I don’t see how you pull off a trade for Jimmy without giving him up to someone. Just meant he’ll be playing elsewhere. I like CC

Why would we have to do a 3 team trade? Iv read the rumors on that but I don’t see how EG and Nene plus a future first round pick doesn’t get it done.

EG is a great player for philly he fits in well for them and they have his bird rights after next season and NENE would prob retire so they save money this year and get a most likely protected future first round pick.

I see why the idea that Philly would want CP3 can be had with the personnel they have, but I don’t buy it. It’s not just a huge contract with an aging player that has had injuries, it’s also a guy that’s a huge personality in the locker room and Philly has some young players that may be affected negatively by him. To be clear I have no problem with us keeping CP3. Everything I just said about him is way overblown and I think he can definitely help us win the chip; but if I was another team’s GM I’d have to look at it from the other side.

Oh. Right. I assumed Butler gets a max and then traded.

I guess I also don’t believe Butler will risk opting in for a year. I know we made good on the CP3 deal, but as Butler’s agent you HAVE to look at every possible scenario. If I was his agent I would tell him to picture if he ends up getting injured and misses time in the playoffs and we end up losing in whatever round in the West, you don’t see a scenario where Tilman will go back on his word? If it’s not on paper you almost have to. His max next year would be almost as much as CP3’s this year. Jimmy has already delayed a max offer.
