If you had to construct a starting 5 from former Rockets role players, what would it look like?

    Lowry / Brooks
    Dragic / Lee
    Ariza / Battier
    Scola / Landry
    Asik / Motie

Even though, Lowry is an all-star now, Dragic is all star caliber, so was Scola during his best season.

All of those players played off the real foundation: Hakeem Olajuwon. They were his role players.

I believe this was about to be the real line up to start the 2012-13 season before the trade for Harden:

    1 - Jeremy Lin
    2 - Kevin Martin
    3 - Chandler Parsons
    4 - Patrick Patterson
    5 - Omer Asik

    Define role player though.
I don't know if I would put Horry, Scola or Mobley in that category.

Keep telling yourself that. That wasn't Olajuwon surrounded by crap. Otherwise Hakeem would have won 12 championships if he could win with crap.

I consider role players to essentially be a non-starter or starter that plays less than 30 minutes a game. So those guys wouldn't qualify unless you focus on rookie year or something.

Calling someone a role player isn't calling him crap.

This immediately made me think of Bostjan Nachbar and then immediately afterwards, this could be pretty close to the funniest roster.

Chuck Hayes is obviously our funniest center because of the free throws, Charles Jones at power forward because really old people are really funny, Bostjan Nachbar was a joke if we ever had one, VSPAN is an excellent choice because of how good he thought he was, and Moochie edges out any other contestant here by thousands of miles for the amazing hair.

Calling major contributors to our only two championships, "role players", is insulting. They're demi-gods. If you don't believe that, you either weren't old enough to remember watching the games live or weren't a fan then.

The souveneir Clutch City towel I received from attending Game 2 of the 1994 NBA Finals at the Summit says otherwise.

I'm still in disbelief that nobody has mentioned Clarence Weatherspoon yet... Dude was a beast on the Houston Chinese buffets; the man essentially starved out opposing teams visiting Houston!

Great, now you've narrowed it down to just being insulting.
