if we finish somewhere around 50-30 basically 50/50 here on out does the beard still take it down with these averages.

I'm just feeling he's gonna get screwed

Nope, IMHO, he is behind Westbrook already.....the only argument was our record...if they regress to the mean, and it is close Westbrook will win in a runaway.

Kawhi if Spurs are 1st seed.
Harden if Rockets are at least 3rd seed.
Westbrook if Thunder are at least 4th seed.

    Durant otherwise.

If we only manage 50 wins, how is getting screwed by not winning MVP? There haven't been many MVPs on teams only winning 50 games.

Dude hate to break it to you but we aren't winning a ring this year. Mvp is about as good as we gonna get and honestly I think harden knows that, same with westbrook, so they chase stats like crazy. If you told me today beard can get mvp but rox won't get a ring or take the gamble and let it play out I'm taking the mvp. Bet Harden and Westbrook are as well

You can keep on rooting for individual player awards. Meanwhile, the rest of us will keep cheering for the team to win because that's what real fans do. Real Rockets fans don't care about regular season awards or individual players. We bleed Red, and the Rockets always come first.

GTFO with your defeatist attitude and all, man. It's not a good vibe.

The people in the media who were for Harden reluctantly were for him. On our current pace they have their reason to pick their boy Westbrook. They were searching fanatically for this moment.

Harden shouldn't focus on MVP, he should focus more on winning games and reducing the careless turnovers. It doesn't really mean much when you get MVP and you lose in playoffs. Build stronger chemistry, regain focus in the game, and at least make a decent effort on defense. The mark in NBA history will be greater if one wins a championship ring rather than MVP award. Getting both is nice though.

lately you get the sense that the MVP hype has gone to everyone's heads and contributed to the sluggish play on the court. The whole team seems to have lost that intensity we had in the first half of the season. Not sure if they will be able to get it back, either.

Don't care. Team results first over player's personal accolades.

if he happens to win MVP in the process, then so be it.

It's almost like a lot of you are more concerned with Harden's MVP than the Rockets W's and standings. It's a team game.

The real important question: If the wheels come off, can we still turn the corner?

Westbrook is averaging an additional 2 rebounds per game, therefore he should be the MVP

I would take the gamble. Every single season. Take the chance that the Rockets will do as well as possible and maybe, just maybe, win another championship one season. That might mean we get eliminated in the first or second round. But it might mean we go to or even win the Finals. I would take that gamble every day.

If Harden or some other player on our team won the MVP along the way, that would be cool I guess. But if taking that gamble meant that had no chance at MVP, I would still take that gamble easily.
