If given the chance to land Iggy, perhaps its time to trade Ariza?

From what I understand, Philly wants to shed contracts without completely robbing them of a nucleus. So why not just throw in Ariza since Iggy is basically an enhanced Ariza? And if they give up Thad Young, he could replace Ariza's role of potential star.

    Proposed Trade

    Ariza+Tmac+Cook+Dorsey

    FOR

    Iggy+Young+Speights+Brand

The Rox still come away with a robbery in terms of talent, but they take on a huge cap hit. Exactly what Morey said he was willing to do right. Now the question remains would Philly want another big, cuz as it is they have no starting 4 man, Scola may have to be included. Would you be willing to pull the trigger on this trade?

... but there is no way Philly would do this... What do they gain? Getting rid of Brand?

Is there anyway to absorb Dalembert, like giving up Battier and Anderson for Dalembert. At what point does this become overkill?

    Extremely wrong.

Andre is 25 years old and Ariza is 24. They can both play together as swingmen for a long while in HOU in their prime.

Obviously, the team is now rebuilding based on the players with 24-26 years old. If HOU insists on requiring Andre, it means Battier is not in the long plan. He is 32 years old and not fit well with our fast-paced system.

    Wow brand, Yao and landry?

that's a formidable fronline, you hear that boston? formidable?

joking aside, no way philly would give up iggy, and brand and speights for basically a huge expiring and a failed project in Ariza + 2 garbage fillers.

I'm all for Tmac + Ariza trade... if its not one thing its another with both of these players... consistency is the name of the game and that's something Ariza lacks

So they are going to gut their roster just to get rid of Brand. No way you get all three of there young players.

why does losing battier make us lottery bound, when he isn't even one of our most important players?

Iggy + Delambert + unprotected 1st round pick or Young

    for

    TMac + Ariza or Battier

Note: I prefer the pick over Young, and prefer trading Ariza over Battier.

Including Ariza in the trade would accomplish two things:
    1. Lower the payroll. As BimaThug has shown repeatedly in the other threads that Les would not take on LT for a 2nd tier player like Iggy.
    2. Ariza is a positive trade value. Including him might enable us to get another young prospect in return.

I would think just the opposite, no way DM and the Rockets do this. I think Philly would do it in a heartbeat. Iggy is a very good borderline all star but he is also over paid. Brand is way over paid and together they have the 76ers hands tied for the next several years. To get rid of both Brand and Iggy with only one year of Dalembert left would be like a new start for Philly.

DM on the other hand will not take Brand, no way no how not gonna happen. DM would be willing to take on a bad contract to get the talent he wants but he is not going to hand cuff the Rockets for the next several years with that albatross of a contract that Brand is lugging around with him. I could possibly see him taking on Dalembert's contract since there is only one year left on it but even that is a stretch IMO.

Exactly as I see it, but then what Bima said comes into play, it would be a matter of how much Lux Tax Les is willing to spend.

I think they would do as fast as possible before DM could change his mind. No way DM would do it though. DM would not take on Brand for Iggy plus Philly's 1st round pick this year.

I do think DM would trade anyone on the roster for the right deal.....

    Which I love about him.

    Exactly.

DM will do what is necessary and what Les is willing to pay over the threshold for talent but he is not willing to handcuff the team for the next several years.

No, that's way too many people gone in one trade. You might as well switch the entire team while you're at it.
