As much as I would love to see Australia winning with the turmoil in team over the last 6 months I just can't see it happening. India should be the favourites in the tournament and will be very hard to beat.
I don't follow Cricket, but whatever happened to those Pakistani dudes? Didn't they get suspended for point shaving or something? What was the story behind that?
Got 5 years each, plus possible jail time in the UK. Basically you can bet on anything in India and bookies were giving the players money to do certain things... like that the second ball of an over would be a no ball. Likely they did more, possibly fix matches too but they only proved that one thing. Really should of been given life, how you can fix a game in anyway and have the chance to play it again is beyond me. To the World Cup, Australia a show as always but have a pretty ordinary bowling line up. India probably should win but will likely choke it up on the big stage. I'm putting my money on Sri Lanka sneaking in for the win, very solid ODI team. Those saying cricket is dying obviously don't watch it, it's just a changing sport which adapts to the market. Sure ODI cricket is on the way out but it has been replaced by T20 which is getting big crowds and big $$$ for players. Test cricket will always be about but the poorer countries seem to be putting less focus on it because of the extra dollars involved in T20.
I laughed when Americans kicked up a storm about this ad. An ad not shown in their country based on a sport they know nothing about. The whole chicken bit has nothing to do with black people in Australia or the West Indies. Might of been dumb given the PC police in your country but I doubt you would find anyone from either of the countries involved finding it offensive.. that is a typical crowd with the drums and singing if you went to a game in the West Indies.
Why is Afridi going to be the captain for Pakistan after what he did in Australia? <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/8ED2iftGsO8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Sehwag and Tendulkar with a sizzling start. I've never heard a crowd as loud as the one in Dhaka right now.
