I want D'Antoni to get revenge for this series:

You would look at D'Antoni and the Phoenix Suns MUCH differently if this series plays out like it should have with the Suns winning against the Spurs 10 years ago.

Mike AntoniO seems calm. Looks like he has the situation under control. I love how pro-active he was last night despite the huge lead.

After reading Hardens player tribune piece the other day and him saying, "I dont like the 7 secs or less offense", it all started to make sense last night. Apparently he wanted the 4 secs or less offense. It was so crazy to see right before the half with like 26 secs left, he sprinted full speed 94 feet to attack the basket and then on a steal Bev sprinted 94 feet with 8 secs left and got fouled wit 4 secs left. What happened to clock management? Pshhhh, who needs that when were going 4 seconds or less?

You're right. I was like WHAAAT, that was so quick. Rockets literally did not slow down the ENTIRE game. It's like they knew SA would and could come back any time, and played like that the entirety of the game. It was beautiful.

I think that had a bit to do with the theory that basically states Kawhi allows you to play 4on4, and you when you play 4on4 the advantage goes to the offense. We'd move the ball right by Kawhi and go to work well before he could set.

Yeah, but.... We were up by 30, with 26 secs left in the half. Thats when you wind the clock down for the last shot. But James didnt, he grabbed the ball and sprinted down the floor in like 5 secs, got blocked, Bev stole the ball and sprinted right back down with 8 secs still left and got fouled. It was a crazy contrast to what is generally deemed as smart basketball. It was just so intense.

Anyone figure out what Dantoni said to Harden on the bench after Nene got ejected? Looked like they both chuckled at something Dantoni said.

It's too bad, that Suns team healthy and playing was better than the Spurs that year, imo. How differently people would view D'Antoni and Steve Nash If they had won a ring. The league would have adapted and evolved WAY more quickly.

I thought about this after the game yesterday. MDA has probably been preparing for this series since his Suns days. Not being able to beat Pop has been a thorn in his legacy for so long that he must have been scheming on ways to beat every iteration of the Spurs since then. Now he has this unstoppable force in Harden and a slew of shooters to finally make his dreams come true.

He didn't seem calm to me. He seemed to have that serial killer type of methodical calculated rage and wanted to embarrass Pop in his own kingdom.

It looked like MDA had been waiting for this moment for years and he wasn't going to miss his opportunity.

I would be ok with continuing to look at those Suns' teams the same and instead looking at this Houston Rockets team MUCH differently after winning the Finals this year.

Everything's changed. Men fall from the sky, the gods hurl thunderbolts, innocents die. That's how it starts, sir. The fever, the rage, the feeling of powerlessness that turns good men... cruel.

Who doesn't like Nash for taking it like a champ and not getting moody.

the suns were robbed vs the spurs in 07 and not only because of the suspensions but also the officiating was geared toward the spurs that series. People forget how dirty of a team the spurs were back then.

The Nash bloody nose that cost them Game 1 was just bad luck, but that Horry hipcheck was a dirty play. I still wonder to this day if Pop told him to do that. Other than tossing a towel in coach Danny Ainge's face while briefly with the Suns(and those two obviously had a history from a few years earlier), did Horry ever do anything else like that in his entire career? It was completely out of character. But it also changed the entire complexion of that series. The Spurs were rattled by the Suns coming back and winning that game and tying the series. If those suspensions never happen, Phoenix likely wins Game 5, goes up 3-2, and more than likely wins the series(and the title).
