Please don't buy HEB sushi it will give you the runs. For Lunch, My girlfriends bought $5 box of California roll and a $9 box of mixed rolls. I can't stop stop going to the little boys room since lunch. Please you have been warning. Sent from Charlie's iPhone
Sorry, Charlie. I love their steamed pork potstickers (I love dumplings in general) for a light lunch. Fry 'em in a covered skillet with some sesame oil and a bit of water. Good eats. Had a few rolls from there on impulse, never had a problem. I think it's the Houston roll that I like: tuna, salmon, avocado.
Seems like we'd just know to abide by this rule intuitively- no grocery store sushi, absolute zero tolerance. But I too had to learn the hardaway. You're craving sushi, you're there, it's cheap, looks okay, tastes okay... but it's not always okay.
The only time I have ever got food poisoning in America is after some sushi at HEB. I've traveled to rogue areas in godforsaken parts of the world and never get sick, but I won't touch the HEB sushi ever again.
If you want HEB sushi next time just ask them to make it fresh for you instead of getting the ones that have been sitting in the cooler. Drink some pedilyte or gatorade and stay hydrated
