Parsons annoys me. But if I am a Grizzlies fan I would appreciate what he wrote. He's still stealing money though!

Was it nice that he admitted he hasn’t handled it well? Yes

Will he be anothing close to the player he was? Nope

I read like half of it...and was like he should have stopped already. Giving the history of the Magic seemed pretty pointless. It would be different if he grew up a Grizzlies fan.

I could only read half of it and had to stop from all the cringe.

I thought it was a good note. And liked how he self examined himself and saw the faults.

The question though is, moving forward. Lots of players do a lot of talking. But they have to do the walking.

With Parsons, we just don't about his knees. He probably has to adjust his game to his new limitations (lack of explosion). Does he have the mindset to do that? We'll see.

My thoughts are your team is paying $80 million dollars for a 1500-word note (~50k per word) -- that I will never read.

If Chandler is really full of remorsefullness and stuff, he should donate his last two years worth of money to the communities in Memphis.

I remember him being a good 1 on 1 defender his rookie year. Was that just him being Athletic and willing to play D as a rookie? Or was he like a Shane Battier kind of guy? If its the latter he may have a chance of contributing

    Lol.

Chandler hasn't cared much for defense after he realised offense is where the limelight is.

He can say and do the right things and be genuine about both but it won’t matter if physically he just doesn’t have it.

Regardless of whether or not you want to believe everything he wrote in that letter, your team is still paying him max level money for role player production...at best.

Good for him, I hope he has a Grant Hill like ending to his career.

Tbh, this sounds like it's written from a dark place. It seems like hes really depressed and wants to be accepted again.

Looking at it, hes been a nobody and laughing stock for years now. His star has completely diminished.

It, too me, seems like a plea for forgiveness and acceptance. Not so much in a genuine way, but more so because he misses the game and adoration.

But, let's be honest, I'm biased by how he acted on his way out and while here.

Not the most captivating piece, to be honest. Yes, injuries have de-railed his career after showing promise as a borderline All-Star talent... but even prior to that (very early on in his Dallas stint), his stat line was incredibly underwhelming.

If he wrote this to get some sympathy from Grizzlies fans, I don't think he went about it the right way. If he were to further delve into what really goes on in his rehab process and also describe the emotional stress/pressure of having to put up superstar numbers while getting paid a superstar salary figure and failing to do so, then this would have been a better read.

Sorry Chandler, but I hope you enjoy your last days in the NBA.
