You are GM of a team. You have 11 guys on the roster and there are only two guys on the planet that you know of that will be available. This player is instantly your 12th man. In this league, there is a deadline to pick up players via FA so this will be your last move of the year. The guy you pick will be the 12th man for the rest of the year. Both guys ask for the same money and you have no holes that you need to fill. The two guys left are... 1. Brian Scalabrine 2. Luke Walton Time frame is now and NOT for their best season.
Scalibrine is a better bench warmer, and you know he'll be a good practice body, Walton will most likely be injured.
Scalabrine. Sole reason being the fans who stick around during a blowout would be screaming for him to be checked in. I speak for the large majority of basketball fans when I say that I would pay to not see Luke Walton on the court.
Can I vote for 'either since he's the last man on my bench and I'll never talk to him, let alone see him on the floor'?
This is a cleverly disguised post Luke Walton and Brian Scalabrine memes.... Don't worry OP, i got the message....Anyways, ill go with the guy that has two rings...the bench needs championship experience....
I've never understood how Scalabrine keeps managing to be on NBA rosters year after year. He brings almost nothing to the table for your team, he only plays in blowouts, and has no upside or potential. Wouldn't it seem like as a GM you would much rather have a young upcoming D-League player who at least has a chance to amount to something. Having Scalabrine just seems like wasted money, but the dude is awesome and a great team morale and fan favorite player.
