If I have a PDF file, do I need any HTML code inserted on the web page for it to open automatically? I want people to click on the file and have it open directly into Adobe Acrobat Reader. Thanks in advance.

    Just a normal < A HREF >.

What happens is really a function of the Acrobat plug-in, not HTML. Some people will get Acrobat to open, some people will actually have the pdf viewed right in the browser's window. And of course, if they don't have the plug-in installed, they will be asked to download the file, or pick app.
