Back when Yao played in the Compaq center, he was NEVER injured. He played nearly the entire season throughout his career while we played in the Compaq center. The reason? The PA announcers would constantly play that song "Yao Mingggggg.... Yao Ming Yao Ming Yao Ming..... Yao Mingggggg..... Yao Mingggggggggggg." We need to inform the people over at the Toyota Center to bring this song back!

Your guess is as good, or if not better than mine's or anyone else's. That's been biggest conundrum of the last 5 years is how to keep Yao Ming healthy.

In 05, he had the rotting toe (osteomyelitis) and that injury where Okur landed on his foot (freakish injury)

In 06, he injured his right knee.

In 07, it was the stress fracture.

In 08, it was the stress fracture sequel.

In 09, it was the (hairline) stress fracture trilogy.

Outside of the stress fractures, his injuries have been fairly normal and ones that he could recover from in a relatively short period of time. Remember, players his size often go are not really built for a long haul career. It is understandable carrying all of that way in such a small frame. I think this might be the last of his serious injuries unless an external circumstances happen to him like a violent collision or blunt trauma to a weak body part.

I think the song actually makes the most sense this year ... "the final piece of the puzzle has arrived ...". Always loved it and don't know why they don't play it.

On all seriousness, he should never play more than 30 minutes a game, maybe 35 in the playoffs and overtime.

Playing him less than 25 minutes a game wouldn't hurt. Let's hope Les makes that point very clear to Rick. Very clear.

    Play him smart.
When Yao was struggling to get the ball, basically he was wrestling with other players. He was getting tired quickly.
Adleman needs to figure out a way to give him the ball easily, and Yao don't have to play as first option, it may reduce Yao's contribution, but as long as he can play defense, it should be ok with even the current roster of Rockets.

    How about get younger somehow...

    or perhaps...

the floors at the new place are defective? That would explain the reason people are always getting hurt... maybe too much impact.

    Bosh!

or a damn good backup....plus more weapons on the floor.

too easy to focus everyone on Yao when there isn't anyone else who can clean up
