How will Zhou Qi be viewed by the end of the season?

There aren't 40 players in the league that are better defenders than this man right now. There's no telling how far up the ladder he'll move defensively by the end of the season.

Zhou, with his super quick feet and his extreme length and his precocious timing/anticipation, could become the single defensive key to beating the Warriors in the playoffs....this season.

 

He can't sustain quickness for long, and it will take him time to get used to the speed of the game.

 

He is quicker than Anderson, moved his feet well in that clip above. Stronger yes but nothing that impedes his movement.

I like his shot blocking. I don't know if his jumper needs to be tweaked, it's always a tough thing to do that. I do feel that he may struggle with outside shooting once faster defenders close on him. He does show promise though, I'm happy he made two 3's. It should give him some confidence.

 

I'm putting my money on Black nullifying Green.

 

This guy has a tremendous ceiling at this point and I think will be a reliable role player in the league as his floor.

He really has stood out in his D-League/NBA tape to this point. I know it is a small sample size but I would like to see us let him post up a bit as well as run the pick and roll.

 

I'd say his upside is Ryan Anderson. Not the current version but the Orlando version. However he still has ways to go before reaching Ryan Anderson level unfortunately.

He's extremely raw and will probably need a couple of years to develop his game but i think he CAN be really good. Right now he's just a tall guy with super long arms and defense.

You forgot ball handling, lateral agility and vision. Lot of NBA 5's who lack his current plethora of skill sets, never mind his potential upside. There is a reason MDA is so excited about him.

 

Agility may be impacted as he puts on weight. Ball handling may be an issue if he starts to like girls.
