How thankful are you now that the Melo trade didn't happen?

Still thankful. Let's see how long Melo will accept this role and here he would've had way more inclination to go iso Melo.

 

Anybody that prefers Anderson to Melo is stupid.

 

melo might be a cancer to a lot of teams, but at the end of the day he would still miles better than ryno by pure basketball talent.

 

1 year Melo >>>> 2 years Ryan Anderson
Simple logic.
Very likely Melo will opt out anyway unless injured.
On the other hand Rhyno has severely negative value as a trade asset.

 

I’m not sure why people are saying that they’d rather have Melo than Anderson...that trade wasn’t going to happen so it’s a moot point

The real question is if you’d rather have Melo instead of Gordon and Ariza. The answer to that for me had always been hell no, and it’s still a hell no.

Melo vs. Ryno is an irrelevant conversation because NY wasn’t going to take him, period

I don't know exactly what the Knicks were asking for. I think they would take Anderson IF we included Capela. That or Gordon+Ariza or something like that. If it was Anderson for Melo straight up, Morey would have pulled the trigger.

Yeah, I'm still thankful that the trade didn't work. Anderson might be playing terrible, but he is not a chemistry killer. Losing either Capela or Gordon just to get rid of his contract is not worth it, not to mention the risk that comes with Melo.

 

it was reported by David Aldridge IIRC that they were asking for Gordon and Ariza...I also think they would’ve done Ryno+Capela too, but Capela was a hell no for me in any Melo trade as well

all I ever wanted to give up for Melo was Ryno and spare parts...most I was ever willing to do was Ryno+the 2020 1st for Melo

 

I'm not really thankful anymore with Ryno's numbers in the tank and Melo settling nicely into a catch and shoot third option in OKC.

You never know how it would’ve worked out and Ryno can still turn things around. Also with the injuries, playing just CP3 or Harden with Melo, not sure that would’ve helped his mindset of setting for role player.

 

Melo had 29 and 10 against the Cavs today. Last time Ryno did that was... never this year.

Not to mention the whole Melo/LeBron are buddies angle.

 

Yeah, not really happy the Melo/Anderson flip didn't happen. Anderson is trash in pretty much every facet of the game (his 3 pt shot is great but he's mentally weaker than Dwight), Melo is gelling with OKC even with ballhog Westbrook over there. Can't imagine how incredible this team would be if we had Melo out there instead of Ryan.

 

I'm not thankful at all. I want Melo.

 

I’m disappointed every time I see Anderson on the court

 

We should’ve traded Gordon for CP3 and kept Lou Williams

Traded Gordon would have let us keep a lot of young guys to trade to for Melo and would’ve help us match CP3s salary

Honestly Lou has that swagger which I trust more than Eric who seems to only do good in non big games

 

I think I once rejected a Melo for Dmo trade in fantasy.

Imagine this team with no Gordon Ryno, or no Capela, Ariza Ryno, because that's what they were asking for.

Sometimes it works out.

They are 1st seat going into playoffs

Ryan was hurt and they are still cooking with gas.
