How thankful are you now that the Iguodala signing didn't happen?

Andre Iguodala makes $15 million while we signed Luc Mbah a Moute for $2.1 million and PJ Tucker for $8 million.

We have the best record in the league and we are better than the Warriors.

Some of the best signings are those you don't make, and the Rockets have fared well by not signing Iguodala and signing Mbah a Moute and Tucker instead.

I think a big part of the reasoning for Iggy was that we'd be hurting GSW in the process. In the end it worked out anyways because GSW had to hamstring themselves more than they otherwise would have, matching a salary offer that was more than he is worth right now. We haven't seen money be a limitation to them yet, but no one's bankroll is limitless.

I feel like Morey did that to force GSW to overpay

Didn't even matter with Durant taking paycuts

How thankful are we that "basketball reasons" happened? (Even though that's still one of the stupidest things I've seen in sports.)

Durant is such a bish. Why would a millionaire unnecessarily take LESS money so the billionaire can make MORE money?

Because of how the salary cap in the NBA works? Duh.

I hope CP3 and Lebron are williing to take less money to form a team here this summer.

We got Tucker for 8 million and Luc for 2.1 million.

Meanwhile, the Thunder signed no offense-space killing-just kind of runs around randomly- Roberson for the same money this year that we are getting Tucker and Luc for.

    Lol

Durant did NOT need to take a pay cut to keep Iguodala and Livingston. Why do people keep making this mistake?

The rules that govern NBA salaries and transactions are Byzantine to say the least — just look at all the shifting pieces behind Chris Paul’s move to the Rockets from the Clippers — but in short, Durant’s pay cut didn’t make the Livingston and Iguodala extensions possible, it made them cheaper, both in terms of the Warriors’ overall salary outlay and in terms of their luxury tax bill. Warriors ownership, led by venture capitalist Joe Lacob, could have paid Durant, Livingston, and Iguodala and just gone deeper into the luxury tax, but they chose not to.

we weren’t offering Iggy 15 mil, we were pretty much offering him the same money Tucker got

Iggy is very good defensively just like Tucker, but he’s not as good of a 3 point shooter and can’t be a small ball 5 like Tucker can

it’s not like Iggy is some scrub tho

That's because they had a 2 time MVP at $11 mil a year and other key players on their rookie contract.
