How much longer are we going to pretend Clint Capela is a Center?

Agreed, this is beyond bad too. We're extremely poor at this. Nene is a better physical, positional 1 on 1 defender than Capela, Harrell is too small, and Capela gets some blocks here and there but sure is no stopper inside.

I'd really like for us to target somebody like Bogut, not just the D and rebounding, but imagine those moving screens here. He'd be a great 20-25mpg starting C for us.

We've been saying that for 2 years with Capela, as is. And of course we'd sacrifice him for Boogie, but the Kings wouldn't. Who could we realistically get for Capela that fits his same type of mold in regards to age, and a career center for the Rockets and to where they are realistically affordable. I'd like to get our hands on Myles Turner, but I know that's a reach. Gobert would be a pipe dream.

    Dear Muray:

Sign Todd MacCulloch to appease OP.

I tell you one thing: I worry more about Ryan Anderson and Trevor Ariza starting in our front court than I do Clint Capella

We all do when the 2 are slowed by fatigue, illness or injuries. But even a healthy Capela has trouble when teams focus on attacking the rim at end of games. Whether it's stamina or poor recovery skills, he is unable to get back to rim in time when he hedges, switches or is screened.

Anderson had a lot to do with that too, it's not all on Clint

Sound more like a strategical issue more than a Clint issue. He's more than fast enough to recover. Put that issue on coaching/scheming.

Would agree with you except Noel was more than able contest at perimeter and get back to rim under MDA last season.

You kid but Dmo would destroy Capela right now. We need a big guy could can bump and grind with the big fellas since Nene can't go every night anymore.

Time to overpay for WCS he is never going to play "real minutes" for the Kings with Boogie there. Papa can take over his limited role for the Kings. No need to send a big back. WCS checks all the boxes needed here and may even start on day one. Taylor made for Harden's p&r. We would have to pay a lot for him. Like two first and Brewer for WCS and Casspi. Just a thought.

Noel is that guy!! He's already on board and he is a true center. I'd give Capela up and a1)filler for him ASAP. I'd look at sending whatever ORL wanted outside our top 6 rotation players to get Obama and Henze. Càpela doesn't have that dog in him. Which is WHAT we need.

If we had a quality starting C, Capela would be the kind of backup big everyone would say we need. So since he's here , let's just go get a quality starting C..
