I was listening to "Cheap Sunglasses" by ZZ Top, and I was just wondering how much people spend on sunglasses.

I got Magic Clip glasses with the magnetic clip that attaches directly to my frames. They retail for $160, but they're awesome. If I ever get Lasik, I'd probably go with the el cheapos, though.

I used to buy really nice sunglasses, but I would always end up losing them. Now I just get the cheap ones.

My glasses have sunglasses that have magnets that lock on to my glasses frames. So they cost more.

My dad has these glasses that darken when he walks outside in the sunlight. They're freakin awesome!

I have a pair of Oakley's that I've had for almost 4 years. I think I paid $100 something for them.

Same here. The only thing that irks me is I NEVER lose the cheapy ones, but if I were to go buy another pair of Oakleys tomorrow they'd be lost by April.

I bought mine at Kroger for about $10 - $15.

I love cheap sunglasses. I lose the pricier ones. In fact, the odds that I'll lose a pair of sunglasses increases singificantly with the price paid for them. The cheaper they are, the less likely I am to lose them.

    Or so it seems.

I think I payed $10 for mine. Paying a mint for sunglasses is something I will never be able to understand.

anyone ever order the "free" sunglasses that they always advertise in magazines? all you have to pay for is shipping and they "retail" between $80 and $230. i've always wondered if those were good quality. i don't expect them to be spectacular and superior in quality but some do look nice.

If I could find decent glasses for under $5 I would buy them. Usually I have to spring for $10 or so.

The exception was Venice Beach in CA -- where I bought a whole bunch for about $3 each. I've lost or broken most of them by now...so I guess it's almost time for another trip.

I've owned two pair. One was around $60 and the other was around $200. Lost both at Astros games.

If I pay $15 for a pair at Academy, they are scratched up within a couple of weeks.

If I pay $50+ at a sunglass store, I lose them within a couple of months.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I used to buy cheapos under $10, but I would always break them, lose them, or they'd get scratched. I got an $80 pair of simple looking Ray-Bans, and haven't scratched it or had problems with it at all. I guess higher price psychologically makes me take care of them better.
