Because today, they keep talking about the Lakers and Knicks meetings happening today.

Was yesterday's meetings with the Rockets and Mavs all over SportsCenter yesterday?

I think the photoshop image of Melo got more press than the actual meeting.

Yes, and a lot of analysts say Houston is the best spot. Stop trying to push an anti-Houston media agenda, people!

To promote a city that isn't a major media market, therefore they have convinced themselves Melo will be in NY or Chicago.

Me personally, I think uprooting his family from NY might be too much for Carmelo but if he really is set on winning then he'll be here.

Expecting ESPN to say anything about Houston is too much. They didn't really care about Miami either during the the 2010 FA.

I bet you anything if Melo does choose Houston, and I have no idea if he does, but IF he chooses us, ESPN will still not be focused on us but instead on the failed bids.

What does this mean for the Lakers? Who have failed to recruit 2 straight stars?
What does this mean for the Bulls? Who are they going after next?
Phil Jackson, did he even want Melo?
What does this mean for LeBron?
    .
    .
And umm... Yeah, Houston. Still no defense. Let's just wait and see.

There, I just save you hours of your life that you can be doing instead of watching ESPN.

How much did ESPN discuss melo being in houston ? Not much at all.

How much did they discuss the "diss" Lin got by houston putting a picture of Melo in a 7 jersey ? A lot

How many Asians work in ESPN ? IDK, I guess they need programmers, etc

Surely they talked about Carmelo and the Rockets

and oh yeah, that fella Jeremy Lin. ;)

Carmelo and his actual visit? Meh, probably not much.

IF Melo chooses Houston the narrative will be from EVERY analyst ... "I'm not sure about the fit due to two ball dominant scorers, etc".... and everyone's favorite punching bag ...."Dwight might have issues with not getting enough touches, and cause friction in the locker room".

If Houston lands another star, they will talk about Houston, but its not like they are going to be singing Morey's praises. Nobody will make the statement that the Rockets are suddenly contenders. It will be a "wait and see" and "I have my doubts" narrative to say the least.

It is what it is. I don't really care anymore. They are a business doing what any business person would.... appeal to the masses. Disney didn't build an empire doing it any other way.

ESPN is mostly worthless during the NBA and NFL seasons, but it's completely worthless when they're both in offseason.
