How much credit Houston is given for Harden (What if Anthony Davis is our star?)

Gordon and Anderson both played with Davis in New Orleans and the Pelicans were mediocre at best. Now, they look like potential all stars next to Harden.

Capela will be a $20 million man next summer thanks to Harden even though Capela can't score on his own.

Harden is the tit that feeds a dozen mouths.

I was gonna say "Harden is the gift that keeps on giving". But what you said is better.

Anthony Davis suffers from Kevin Garnett syndrome. Great, great individual player, and not selfish either.

But simply doesn't have the ability to truly elevate a team on offense. You can't say here's the ball, make us go for 3 quarters and win it in the 4th with the entire defense geared to stop you. If he were traded to a team with a true alpha scoring guard, he would be extremely good.

Harden is that guy, he could literally be dropped into any team in the league and they would likely be a playoff team, or very close to it.

I won't doubt that he can do anything he puts his mind into except being a PG, which is essential to our style of play.

Is there a player who's been to playoffs every season for his career?

The public judges Davis on what he does as a player with his monster stats.

OTOH, they judge Harden on what his team does and assume the monster stats are baked in.

    Different scales of judgement.

Poppovich? Sure. Stevens? Because of what he's done this season? He's a good coach, but to put him in Poppovich category is extremely premature IMO. The guy hasn't even been close to getting to the championship game. Boston got smoked in the Eastern Semis last season.

The Celtics had the best record in the Eastern Conference and went to the Eastern conference final with their best player being a 5'9" that was injured and had a sister pass away during the playoffs. Anyone that knows anything about basketball(Pops) knows Stevens is on a different level as a basketball mind.

Okay, then call me a r****d because I think Stevens is not deserving of the same praise as Popovich. Like I said, he's good, but he hasn't earned Popovich praise yet.

THE STEP-BACK 3 isn't something that Harden developed over the summer. It's a move that has been years in the making, a priority for Harden since he arrived in Houston, knowing he needed to expand his repertoire as he made the transition from Thunder sixth man to Rockets go-to guy. Rockets player development coach Irv Roland, who travels with Harden throughout the offseason, has incorporated step-backs into every single drill since Harden was traded to Houston in October 2012.
