19 ?! (fist bump) Hey I never actually though of looking at all-time FGA list ... Interesting , and they call Melo "high volume" ...
I agree. Even the age of 19 is no fun, theres no meaning. 18 and you can legally buy cigarettes, 20 you are no longer a teengager, and 21 you can get your drank on. 19 should be forbidden in many more ways then 1.
I think he will get all Ariza shots + some CP shots. 17-20, second after Harden. I think he will get that boring time buckets along with Eric while in crucial time JH + CP will take over
Classic case of more is less. He has always been an inefficient scorer. The more he is scoring for you, the more inefficient your offense is going to be. Wont matter as much during regular season against of the weaker teams because James harden is going to carry us as always but its going to bite us in the ass once we go up against Warriors where every but counts including efficiency. Like Joe Johnson, let's hope Mike has figured out by then that the best place for Melo is bench and that he is glued to it. he does want to be the glue guy after all.
I like this except I think Melo will be in the 17 point range with CP3 & EGO. What's great about this line up is that any one of Harden, Melo, EGO, CP3 & Capela can have a breakout game at any time.
Would you like salt with that petty grammar Nazi comment Btw you said “won’t matter against *of* the weaker teams” Do I get a prize to?
It's true, he has a lower eFG% than Trevor Ariza. Counterpoint is that Gordon, Paul, and others' eFG% has increased in the Houston offense versus the previous offense. If he's willing to adapt to a system.... well then old stats don't hold. That's what everyone is banking on, and why signing him for the minimum makes him cut-able and brings almost no risk.
The other problem is that he is a liability on defense. Neither Chris, nor Gordon are a liability like he is. So in order for Melo to be a net positive for us, and to offset his bad defense against the Warriors, he would have to convert buckets at an insanely high efficiency on the other end.
Hahaha! Not only pointing out the gap in the choices...but this also sounds like a very reasonable choice to pick! Touche'! I agree...19! 19 being the number...
The shots will be there with the wing duo gone. I can see EG getting more use and moving up to 20 ppg while CP’s scoring slightly dips. Expect Melo to get at least 10-14 shots putting up around 16 ppg.
