I've only seen the 30 second version of that commercial.

 

That's great. I used those lyrics in a Facebook post just two days ago for my friend who's car broke down.

Thanks. I created the original commercial in 1969, whan all TV commercials were 60 seconds long. In 1970, it won a special Clio for Childrens' commercial. In the early 70's, however, TV went to running 30's and they cut
the present version which I never liked. This is much better. If you want any more information about it, just ask me, Jerry


...why is the kid naked?

He's not. It's just a cartooing style from that era, using an economy of line to accomplish the essence of the characters. Interestingly, the company that animated the commericial (Murakami Wolfe) used almost the same technique afterwards to create their classic animated story: "The Point".
