Is it conceivable that he can keep up this level of play for the next 3 seasons? He is 34, and looking as healthy as he has since he was 27. He has played in 871 career games. For perspective, Dwight Howard has played in 954 career games, so Nene Really doesn't have that much wear for his age. Would you give him a 3-year deal If that was the price? Would love to hear some contract proposals that make sense.
I would say at this level in this role 2 years with a lesser more limited 3rd. I would be willing to do 3yrs 18 with the last a team option
Yeah I edited my post. 3/18 with a team option is good value and I think he might take it but could get more elsewhere.
Who knows...maybe one, maybe three...anyway i love Nene and i hope he retires as a Rocket, but i think a 2 year deal would be better for us.
I would keep offering him 1 year deals at this stage. Terry also looked amazing in his first year here and he was 36 back then but he fell off pretty bad year the next so just keep offering him 1 year deals
Playing him as we did this year, I can easily see him going 3 years. As mentioned above 3 with team option sounds good. Get Kevin Willis to show him where the fountain of youth is hidden
I like Nene and appreciate what he's brought this season... but if the guy can't even play in btb games... imo that limits his value substantially.... I wouldn't mind keeping him around on a cheap year to year basis as a vet presence in a backup role... but I wouldn't count on his continued production.... ...jus bein realistic...
NeNe is our new Chuck Hayes with Height and better offensive skills.. 3 more years would probably be possible without injury and managing his minutes like we did this year.
lol I was gonna say the same thing. If he can handle the big Booty Brazilian ladies..... he can last 10 more years.
That's a very good question for Daryl Morey. Crossing my fingers that Sam or Troy can take that next step, but I kind of doubt it.
