Doesn't matter after you factor in the dominance of Drummond. He is the best player on the planet and Asik is just happy to be playing in his galaxy.

I'd say asik is a top five Defensive center. Probably top three when it comes to defending the pick and roll. This year is the guy's first as a starter and he has already proven to be a rebounding machine.

After another offseason working with K-mac Omer can become even better.

Is Tim Duncan really playing as center? He is listed as a forward.

    Tier 1: Duncan, Howard
-Impact on both offensive and defensive ends.

Tier 2: Jefferson, Bosh, Gasol, Garnett

Tier 3: Gortat, Asik, Chandler, Vucevic, Noah, Cousins, Horford, Hibbert, Lopez, Monroe, Pekovic

Tier 4: Sanders, Jordan, Varejao, Kaman, Bogut (2013), Okafor, Valanciunas, Drummond, Hickson etc.

    Phew...

every time those "better" centers go up against asik, they end up hammered with a lower than usual shooting percentage. (i'm excluding timmy and the diva).

Asik is the reason we don't get out rebounded. I remember last season, before camby showed up, we'd get abused on the glass.

I'll take the following over Asik:

    Dwight Howard
    Tim Duncan
    Marc Gasol
    Tyson Chandler
    Marcin Gortat

I don't think he's top ten. These guys are better RIGHT NOW.

    Chris Bosh
    Tyson Chandler
    DeMarcus Cousins
    Marc Gasol
    JJ Hickson
    Dwight Howard
    Al Jefferson
    Brook Lopez
    Greg Monroe
    Joakim Noah

After that, the play pool is fairly muddled and its hard to really rank them. You've got injury-prone guys (Varejao, Nene), former all-stars having an off year (Horford, Hibbert), athletic big men (Jordan, McGee), defensive beasts (Asik, Sanders) young men beginning to take off (Drummond, Vucevic) and guys who're overlooked (Robin Lopez, Pekovic). So its hard to really pinpoint where Asik would be in a ranking system.

But I agree with rogower that we have Asik on a great deal and he has the potential to improve his offensive game. So I'm very happy with him.

Vucevic, Varejao, and Jordan are all not better than Asik. Not even close. Hibbert is also having a worse season than Asik.

Idk, Varejo is extremely productive. I don't love his style, but he typically gets it done.

Are you naming off centers or big men? Hickson and Bosh sure as hell aren't centers.

Asik falls in the 7-14 range, where there's a whole herd of inconsistent players who may or may not excel on any given night... Objectively...Asik falls somewhere right after Gortat and Pekovic....

Deandre Jordan? Are you kidding me? How old are you, kid? Pekovic??? OH MY GOD this kid! LMAO
The only centers I put over Omer Asik are Howard, Bynum, Greg Monre, Roy Hibbert and Tyson Chandler. You need a slap in the face.

I think Asik is somewhere in the 10th to 15th range as far as centers go.

How many times do I have to say this?

I was just naming some centers so that you guys didn't have to go look up all the centers in the league. That wasn't a list of centers that I'd put over Asik.

Secondly, you wouldn't put Marc Gasol over Asik? Not Noah? Duncan? Brook Lopez? Al Jefferson?

But you put Hibbert over him?

You are the one who needs a slap in the face.

Asik is on Hakeem's level right now.
