Here's what I hope the Rockets do this upcoming season: I hope they stand pat and just play the guys they have right now. No gutting the team getting Howard. Keep all the young "assets" & draft picks. Then after the season they go hard after Andrew Bynum. They keep all their promising young guys and future draft choices and (hopefully) convince Bynum to join the team. This season I see them only winning between 25 to 30 games. With a little bit of luck in the next lottery, they hopefully get a Top 3 pick and get a young stud player who (along with maybe getting Bynum) will help this team get back to being a force in the Western Conference again. Of course, they will have to do something about the 43 PFs they currently have on the roster. If we're lucky, they trade the ones they like the least for some more draft choices, even if it's for multiple 2nd rounders in distant drafts. Keep stockpiling those "assets". Sounds like a good plan to me but it involves more of a risk. I see it being a gamble worth taking, though if the club truly believes it has a great shot at getting Bynum to sign as a free agent. Thoughts?
That would be okay but what's the chances a team with an All Star on it would also have a Top 10 pick besides?
I don't seem why Bynum are going to give up his bird right to join a rebuilding team. Also, the next season rooks are said to be the worst in the decade. Even with high pick I don't see we will be very successful in the next couple of season if the Dwight trade falls apart which seems to be very likely now. My best hope is that Raptors draft pick will be protected in the next draft, and we will have their pick on the 2014 draft.
If we sign Bynum outright, than Bynum will lose a guaranteed year and extra % of raise each year. That is why Bynum will just sign an extension with the Lakers if he is not traded to another team.
Sounds ...like you shouldn't start anymore threads. You clearly are not content with hitting the "post reply" icon. Is it an attention thing?
With the current roster and picks, my projection of the Rockets in the next 3 - 5 years is in some where between of the Pacers and the Wolves. Likely a 2 round playoff exiting team.
No offense but how is someone a fan of both the Celtics and the Rockets? That's kind of like being a fan of both the Lakers and the Rockets. While I have respect for the Celtics organization and its history, being a Rockets fan makes me always want to see Boston lose. Same goes for the Lakers.
