After the radio guy shuffle late last year, what is your primary station you listen to? I was coming back from lunch today, listening to Matt Thomas on 790, and thought to myself: it's so nice to finally have a station where everyone knows what the hell they're talking about. Well, that and has a decent signal (I can't seem to get 1560 even in the middle of town).
790 came in and got this **** on lock. They went from worst to first overnight. My dial is tuned there and maybe 1560, 610 is trash now.
Can't pick up 1560 in the house and get static in the car. 790 now owns my sports radio tuning in. Matt and Adam saved me from the 610 hell hole.
I usually end up listening to the Blitz and Calvin Murphy Show on the BSPN station at lunch and driving home. They seem to know their subjects very well and I miss C Murph next to Bill so I dream about the day they reunite. :grin:
i use to only listen to 610 and occasionally flipping to 1560. recently, i dont listen to 610 at all. I mostly go to 790 and the occasional visit to 1560.
I've noticed that even the 610 regulars that text or call in (e.g., Ochotexto) have switched to 790. Surely the management at 610 realizes that they've failed, right? When their Rockets and Texans contracts are up... I smell demise.
I just don't know what 610 was thinking when they hired John Lopez and Barry Warner. It's as if they thought Rich Lord was the reason they got high ratings and figured they need to hire more like him.
I typically liek Matt and Adam bc of they usually discuss the Rockets quite a bit but since they teamed up on 790, all I hear about is college football and NFL. I guess it's your taste but i personally have no interest in college football and minimal interest in the NFL. I'm 10x more of a rockets fan than I am texans fan so this time of year kinda sucks, I actually stopped listening and listen to 104 or something in the mornings now bc it's all football and day long on any radio station.
My radio has been locked on 790 since Matt and Adam got together. I'm really curious to see what the ratings are like now in the mornings between 610, 790, and 1560. I'll still flip over to 1560 during commercials, or if they have a more interesting topic.
I get 790 and 610 here in Austin, which makes 1560 a non-option for me. I used to listen to both just about equally, but since the switch, it's been 790 all the way.....besides Rome.
I used to listen to 610 exclusively, but when Matt and Adam moved to 790 I started listening to them instead and still do. This led me to "rediscovering" Charlie P in the afternoons...and I have to say I now prefer his one man show over Rich Lord and Insert Host Here on 610....despite his smugness. And John Lopez, if you ever read this site, which will inevitably lead you to read this particular thread, you are terrible. I feel sorry for Vandermeer So I voted 790, though I still listen to Rome on 610.
It'd be interesting to see if the 790 dominance in this poll translates to the ratings. By far the most sports radio I listen to is Matt and Adam in the morning. Usually don't listen during the day, but I've heard Matt Thomas sparingly and I liked him okay. I'll listen to Rome every now and then online if there is something good going on that he's going to burn about (IE Mcgwire/steroids). Not a big Pallilo fan but I'll catch a few minutes on the way home sometimes before putting on music.
