It occurred to me that all of Houston's noteworthy championships have come in pairs (or 4 in the case of the Comets)

    1960 and '61 Oilers (AFL)
    1974 and '75 Aeros (WHA)
    1994 and '95 Rockets (NBA)
    1997-'00 Comets (WNBA)
    2006 and '07 Dynamo (MLS)

And of course the 2017 Astros. While they're not at the top of the current 2018 standings as of this post, it's still early and they're still playing quite well, and are looking better still than the Dodgers and the Yankees. I think they have a great chance to continue the trend ;)

Derek Jeter is retired though so I don't know if that Astros championship "counts". o_O

Hahaaa I see what you did there :)

The '94-'95 Rockets have got to be the most disrespected repeat champions in sports history. Yeah Jordan retired, he was great and the Bulls were great but there were plenty of other great teams too, especially in '95 as the 6th seed, and we beat all of 'em those two years.

This is one of the reasons why I would love to see the 76ers and the Rockets in the finals, because one city can represent 2 championships in one year.

    Go Houston!

It would actually be 3 for Philly if you count Villanova.
