Bring them to see the monument of the greatest Nigerian to grace the Earth in front of Toyota Center. Better yet, bring them to a Rockets game.
I asked for some input from them about what interest them. This jumped out so I will put this on the list They mentioned museums as well. I think an early start to JSC - Lunch - Then Museums - Now something for the evening. I think the kids will love it. Rocket River
*chuckle* I went to visit L.A. a while back Friends ask me where I wanted to eat .. . I said HEY! LET'S Try the Rasco's Chicken and Waffles They were less than enthused and wanted to go to Chili's I was disappointed cause. . hell . . i got chili's in Houston Rocket River
If you are going to JSC take them to the boardwalk or even killen's BBQ since you'll only be 20 minutes away. Or, weather is nice, go To JSC then spend the day in Galveston. Spot burger!
BTW, I forgot to mention that you should take them to the spot outside the loop on Richmond and Westheimer - Men's Club, Treasures, Centerfolds, Scores etc I'm sure your Nigerian buddies would enjoy
Not sure if already mentioned but the Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern is very cool. They do walk through tours every 15 mins or so on weekends. Also some decent small to medium sized venues for concerts: Walters Downtown, Fitzgeralds (controversy aside), White Oak, House of Blues, etc
Canoeing down Buffalo Bayou. When I have people from other countries, I like to take them on a driving tour of River Oaks and the shotgun shacks of northern Third Ward. It may not be the tour the Greater Houston Partnership would recommend, but people find the wealth disparity interesting.
Oh man, I really liked the Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles in Pasadena. The chicken is really flavorful, and it melts in your mouth with the butter, syrup, and waffle.
