We were out in Houston on Saturday night. My roommate got too drunk and was asked to leave. Fair enough, I respect the club (have had an awesome time there before) so my other roommate and I get him over our shoulders and make our way towards the door. The bouncer that asked us to leave saw us do this and let us walk out, however another bouncer with a 70s style look (long mustache and hair) forced his way between me and and my drunk roommate being extra violent with him. I'm pretty sure this bouncer was either high or drunk. We go outside, I'm trying to get inside position on the right side of my roommate so I can support him from falling over, against the bouncer. This dude for no reason then goes and shoves my drunk roommate on to the ground really hard. Completely uncalled for. I wanted to go and talk back to this guy, but it wasn't the right thing to do. The guy then says something totally racist to us (we're all Indian) and goes inside. I decided it wasn't worth responding to. Screw it. But it was totally uncalled for. We were a big group, but were being totally civilized and mindful of others there. Just needed it to be known, so I figured I'd post in the Hangout. It's not right, but I couldn't hang back and do anything about it because my roommate needed more attention than anything at that point. Meh, just typing it out has helped me get over it.
might be humiliating, but you did the right thing. in retaliation, I would rent 6 of the most beautiful prostitutes you can find and dress them in the finest schwag Houston has to offer. Don a brimmed hat with feather and go right back to the same club.....as you approach the door, tell that bouncer..."I make it rain, I make it rain on them hoes" you win.
I have a few buddies who have worked as bouncers. Most of them will just try to find any opportunity to lay someone out if they can. That's usually why they work there.
You did the right thing. Now call management and tell him that since they hire racist meatheads/rednecks as bouncers, you'll be sharing that info with the Houston internet community. Unless, of course, you can get some bottle service out of it. In that case, take Landlord Landry's advice, and bring those escorts.
Its not for the money. Bouncers usually make less than 10 bucks an hour. Bouncers are dressed rent-a-cops.
You mess with bouncers and you're asking for trouble. On a side note, what happened to Roc Bar in Downtown? I used to go once every few months and really liked the atmosphere, merchandise was nice to look at and no cover but went last weekend for a friends B-Day and wow it was have empty, merchandise looked like it was on the clearance rack but the help was still cool. Just curious why so many hot spots go to crap so quickly?
I am tired of all these bouncer threads. I need some satisfaction out of all these stories. So next time a bouncer screws with one of you guys please stab his eyes out and post pics.
Thanks, I went to Drake about 8 months ago and thought it was ok just kinda snobby but will check out Ei8ht next time.
