Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think he and Tilman would get along.

Hawaii is the best non playoff bowl you can’t get. That’s very good. Let’s just hope Applewhite doesn’t have another captain step up this year and tell the team not to go off tilt, and then go and do it, lol.

Such a blessing to have a star play for his hometown university.

Seemed like a cool guy but good riddance. Not sure how much of the offense can be blamed on him though with Applewhite holding the reins.

    From Inside Texas:

    By: Justin and Eric

A couple of weeks ago we mentioned the coaching carousel could have an impact on the Texas staff. We were watching one job in particular and damned if it didn't hit. That move is Houston OC Brian Johnson vacating for Florida. Reports are out that he'll rejoin Dan Mullen as his QB coach. How could that affect Texas? We wonder if TE's coach Corby Meekins becomes a target to replace him. Meekins ran a pretty advanced HS offense when he was at Westfield and obviously he's worked with Applewhite previously.

Houston focusing on Chris Pezman to take over Cougars athletics

FOX 26 Sports has learned the University of Houston is focusing on Chris Pezman, senior associate athletics director and chief operating officer at the University of California, Berkeley, to become the Cougars next athletics director.

Pezman played football at the University of Houston (1990-92), and at one point was also the school’s assistant athletics director for football operations.

According to the Cal website Pezman “ has implemented a comprehensive work order system to appropriately maintain $1 billion in physical assets under his purview.”

The site also points out that “for the past 20 years, Pezman has worked in various capacities within the facility management and intercollegiate athletic industries.”

Pezman would replace Hunter Yurachek who left UH to take over as athletics director at Arkansas.

Pezman seems like the right direction. It would be nice to a real Coog for once.

At least now we’ll know if it was Applewhites 18th century wet rug offense or the coordinators. We already know it has nothing to do with the qbs because we tried a pocket passer, a runnng qb and a strong arm gunner. All three failed. So it had to be the scheme. Now we just need to determine who was responsible. And shoot it.

My guess is that Major "Levine" Applewhite gets one more year. If it is like this one, he is gone.

I don't follow recruiting, so how has Applewhite done here?

How does this compare to the recruiting classes of Herman or Levine?

Hearing that Major will announce his OC and OL hires today. Also hearing it might be Kendall Briles. Pezman and Khator better be ready if true...

Briles and Clement both have met with Tilman and others recently. Very interesting all the way around.
