    it is analogous to
    • the trust fund baby Donald claiming to be a self-made billionaire
    • the dotard declaring that media is the enemy of the people
    • the narcissist Donald claiming that the Bible is his favorite book
      • we all know that he has never read the Bible, cos he is not in it

Funny how trump-led republicans fought hard to avoid Mueller testifying, and now that he is, they spin out the how bad it will be for Democrats. If the only thing accomplished by Mueller's testimony is to educate the republicans on what the report actually said its a win, since I suspect few if any read Mueller's report. One thing I do expect... not one republican will ask Mueller a question about his report, but rather questions about Obama and Hillary.

With Mueller being forced to testify under a subpoena, he is going to have his guard up.

Last I checked, handing out subpoenas was not on the list of best ways to make friends and influence people.

This is very likely going to be yet another nothingburger.

AG Barr just stated that if Mueller prefers not to testify before Congress, all he has to do is say so and the DOJ will provide him with protection so that he does not have to.

Barr: Mueller’s Hill testimony will be ‘public spectacle’

Attorney General William Barr says Democrats are trying to create a “public spectacle” by subpoenaing Special Counsel Robert Mueller to testify before Congress about the Russia investigation.

In an interview with The Associated Press, Barr says the Justice Department would support Mueller if he decides he “doesn’t want to subject himself” to congressional testimony. Barr also says the Justice Department would seek to block any attempt by Congress to subpoena members of the special counsel’s team.

There is no indication that Mueller is planning to skip his July 17 appearance before Congress. He’s said he will not go beyond his 448-page report released in April. Mueller no longer works for the Justice Department, but the department could attempt to limit his testimony about decisions he made as special counsel.

Do you happen to have any factual backup to that assertion? No? What a surprise.

LOL... you just posted barr's effort to create a false narrative about Mueller's testimony. Not surprised... barr is known for false narratives.

House panel seeks grand jury material underlying Mueller report; removing
the redaction would, among many things, iden
tify the person who authorized Manafort to provide polling data to the Russian Oligarch

Dem chairman Jerry Nadler said that the panel is seeking the material in order to decide whether to recommend

articles of impeachment against Trump —
perhaps his most significant and public acknowledgement that his committee is considering impeachment as a possibility.

"Because Department of Justice policies will not allow prosecution of the sitting president, the United States House of Representatives is the only institution of the federal government that can now vote President Trump accountable for these actions,” Nadler said at a press conference Friday afternoon, quoting from the application his committee was about to file in court.

“To do so, the House must have access to all the relevant facts and consider whether to exercise its full Article I powers, including a constitutional duty power of the utmost gravity — recommendation of articles of impeachment. That duty calls in the first instance to the House Committee on the Judiciary,”

In its filing Tuesday, Deutsche Bank said it has tax returns -- in either draft or as-filed form -- responsive to the subpoenas. The names were redacted. The bank also said it has “such documents related to parties not named in the subpoenas but who may constitute ‘immediate family’ within the definition provided by the subpoenas.”

    Deutsche Bank said
it does not believe it possesses tax returns responsive to the subpoenas for any individuals other than the people it identified. The bank said it is reluctant to publicly identify information related to tax returns for specific individuals because of “statutory, contractual and privacy concerns.”

The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act generally prohibits banks from disclosing nonpublic personal information of customers to a third party if the customer hasn’t consented, although the law may allow financial institutions to give out some nonpublic personal information to comply with a subpoena or other legal request, Deutsche Bank said.

There has been no immediate response to the news from Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office or Democrats who control the House Ways and Means and Judiciary Committees.

The House committees told the court in a letter earlier Tuesday that a law prohibiting certain disclosures of tax returns or return information doesn’t apply

if the banks obtained that information from Trump or any of the other plaintiffs,
and not from the Internal Revenue Service or

if they got the information from the IRS at the request or consent of Trump or any other plaintiffs.
