    Am with you.
Reality is weird and disturbing enough for me these days, thank you. Don't need any extra helpings.

Just watched this and I think general audiences will hate it while some movie buffs will dig it. I thought it was good. Surprised Jennifer Lawrence finally went nude on film albeit its in
    a messed up rape scene

Is it perverse? Any boobs? Rosemary's baby level of storytelling? Is it Jontro approved? Is it better than IT/clown movie?

Genuinely incredible movie. Not sure I loved it or liked it or disliked it or hated it. It was insane. I'm leaning towards liking it, and it really was a piece of art. If you're not really into movies do not go see this as you will despise it.

7.5 out of 10 for me.

This is hyperbolic. It wasn't "torture p*rn" at all. But it does have some very disturbing stuff go down.

There are some really, really good actors in the flick. I'll probably see it, although not because of Lawrence's allegedly disturbing nude scene. I've seen her nude before (outstanding! then she started suing people). Might wait for more feedback from members here. More feedback, please!

sounds like that's a reflection of audience expectations, as the trailer seems to have lied about what the film was

Once you realize the movie is a religious allegory, it makes a lot more sense.

Sounds like this movie sucks ass and the only reason people are giving it a mild decent review is because they don't want to admit they got duped.

Didn't like it. Even though I picked up the metaphor it really didn't have a wow factor. To each their own, seen a friend say it's the best thing ever and it emotionally got to him. 5/10 because I was just trying to pick apart any clues and that's the only reason I was engaged.

I think Aronofsky peaked early. Requiem for a Dream is well-crafted, beautiful and disturbing. It has a unique voice.

Trees in Space was like a high school project (but with lots of money behind it).
It sounds like Mother! is just grindhouse nonsense spun as art. I shouldn't judge it without seeing it, I know.

    Exactly
Sounds like people put a bunch of stuff on film . . . then then say it is too deep for the masses

Alot of the Artsy Films are like the Emperor's New Clothes

    Rocket River

"One day two swindlers came to the emperor's city. They said that they were weavers, claiming that they knew how to make the finest cloth imaginable. Not only were the colors and the patterns extraordinarily beautiful, but in addition, this material had the amazing property that it was to be invisible to anyone who was incompetent or stupid." - Emperor's New Clothes

If there is one thing you can say about this movie...it's that you will be entertained. No doubt about that.
