Really? Tabasco is pretty weak IMO. Then again, I used to dip everything in tabasco sauce....eggs, spaghetti, hash browns, fries, omelets, hamburgers, bacon...
I'm back. It's not too bad. Throat kinda stings. Tongue is burning. But after 3 minutes, it's ok. Maybe you haven't tried some of those spices that the other posters were talking about. Some last for an hour or more and just makes you cry. Some of them are even banned by the government and other require you to sign legal disclaimers.
I seriously doubt you did it. If you did, you would be the first by a long shot. I've had everything on here. Sriracha, Bentley, Three Mile Island, Blazin wings. I know how spicy things are. If you jusy did 4 oz. (ie. put it in a shot glass and drink it) of tabasco; roughly 1/3 of the bottle, you would be nauseous. Believe me, I know. I used to, for fun, go to Outback Pub, and find a sucker. I would proposition him. If he did the shot, I would give him $5.00. Most guys did it, and EVERY one of them regretted the hell out of it. The pain WILL last AT LEAST a half hour. Now go try it, for real.
You're right. I didn't try 4 oz, I just tried maybe 1 oz. 4 oz. is just too much. It's not so much that tabasco is hot, rather you've just had TOO much of something. Try drinking 4 liters of water in 10 minutes. You'll feel sick too. I guess that's my point. Tabasco itself isn't that hot.
I like eating tabasco and jalapeno peppers. I don't find tabasco sauce too hot at all. Tabasco peppers are probably my favorite pepper to eat with foods next to some Indian pepper I have yet to figure out the name of. I don't know if I'd try 4 oz. of tabasco pepper sauce, but I don't think the heat would be too bad. It might make your stomach rumble, though. lol.
One time I was cutting pickled jalapenos and a stream of juice shot into my eye. My whole day was ****ed after that.
I dont like Tabasco because it taste like crap. It is too vinegar-y. For a sauce like that, I prefer Chalula or Sriracha. I dont find any of those particularly hot.
Why do you think I tried it in the first place? Why do you think I was able to get guys at a bar to take me up on my bet? People don't think it is that hot. Then they do it, and they feel absolutely miserable. Believe me, Tabasco is a lot hotter than you think.
I'm surprised nobody has brought up Louisiana Hot Sauce yet. The most vinegary and weakest hot sauce of the bunch.
You haven't felt pain until you take a leak after not wiping Dave's Insanity sauce completely off your hands first.
You don't have to tell me. I eat it. The pepper itself is not as hot as a habanero. A Tabasco pepper is not as hot as scotch yellow bonnet peppers. A Tabasco pepper is not as hot as thai peppers. Now if you're saying your stomach can't handle "drinking" 4 oz. of tabasco peppers... well... I can believe that. Your stomach probably couldn't stand drinking 4 oz. of gasoline either. lol. I love hot sauces, but I'm not one of the idiots that tries to act like some macho guy buy dropping a straw into a bottle of hot sauce and sucking it out. 4 oz. of tabasco sauce has nothing to do with the heat, but rather the other crap in the sauce itself. Four oz. of Louisiana hot sauce would probably make me vomit. It's like saying, here - guzzle a gallon of milk. I'd probably puke at the thought of it, but somehow I can drink a couple of glasses of it. It's not the quantity of the sauce that matters, it's the heat rating. If you want to really figure out the scoville rating of peppers and hot sauces, try the following link : http://www.chilliworld.com/FactFile/Scoville_Scale.asp
I like the peppers themselves... I don't pour the vinegar stuff from the bottle into anything. I usually unscrew the cap and pull out the peppers. The vinegar junk is gross. Fatty, are you talking about those bottles of tabasco peppers with vinegar? When you say drink 4 oz. of that stuff are you talking about the vinegar in it? Christ, man, try drinking straight 4 oz. vinegar... that's NASTY. lol.
Wow, you read my mind... Tabasco is all heat and no flavor. Cholula rocks, but it's about $2.50 for a small bottle, which isn't very economical when you consider how much hot sauce I consume. I like Tapatio. Good flavor and a decent amount of heat for about 50 cents for a big bottle...
