https://bloody-disgusting.com/tv/3623740/don-mancinis-chucky-tv-series-coming-usa-syfy-2021-teaser/ Sounds like it’s going to be an homage to the tone from the first movie. Much more in-depth backstory and character development on the small screen. I’m pumped!
I think if they follow an origin story and keep the horror low key that is going to resonate, as opposed to an american psycho type of approach. Not sure. But I'd rather be rooting for Chucky than freaked out. Should be interesting either way. Will take a look.
I liked the first Chucky a lot and the Mark Hamill version. I can't imagine this will be very good, or that there are too many people dying to see it, but I'll take a look.
same I actually thought the most recent one with Aubrey Plaza was decent. Basically just a modern retelling of the original. Way better than the crap theyve released over the years
I can't honestly remember the 2nd one. It might have been good, I'll have to look for it. It seemed liked they got sillier and sillier as they went on. A little humor is great, but I don't go to horror movies to laugh. The latest was a total reboot with a new origin story that, while timely, felt rushed. I felt like the whole thing was a little too slick and PG-13 for my liking, but Mark Hamill's voice work was great. They did a nice job with it, but the original is still my favorite.
https://tvline.com/2020/07/16/chucky-trailer-teaser-video-childs-play-tv-series-2021/ I dunno about this. The novelty of Chucky might wear off within the first few episodes if they can't develop characters. Otherwise, people are only going to tune in to see how Chucky kills. And that's going to get old quick, I feel.
Literally have not watch ANYTHING consistently on SyFy in over 2 yrs They have struggled since Dark Matter and killjoys Rocket River
First episode was better than the direct to dvd sequels. Not a bad first episode, it was just ok. It’s a usa/sy fy type of show so set your expectations very low and you might enjoy it a little.
yeah kind of gives you what you expect for network TV...although it's hard to tell if Chucky is gonna try to steal a (certain character's) body or not. I'm definitely gonna keep watching.
