I had some deplorables help me out, for which I'm very thankful. Also some libs, and I appreciate their help too. It is disappointing though that the conservatives who came and put in some superhuman work to get me on the road to recovery aren't interested in doing anything politically to perhaps make the next emergency less bad. We talk in the office all the time about how it's great that dedicated workers can save the day in an emergency with some heroic effort, but that we need to improve processes enough that heroic effort is never necessary even in emergency. That is an approach that should apply to everything we do in life -- be prepared so heroics are not needed. In this case it means spending the money now to combat climate change, to make our city more resilient to the impacts of hurricanes and other disasters, to equip people to withstand a calamity without being pushed into distress costs. Conservatives think we can get away without paying for this stuff. In the end, we're going to pay, and we'll probably pay a lot more because we weren't willing to invest in prevention.
Right. Just like racism played a role in preventing Obama from winning the 2008 election ... oh wait .... If only Hillary could run against someone as incompetent as John McCain ... oh wait ... Apparently calling a woman a b**** is misogyny even if she defines the word to the letter. Its ok for Hillary to pander to the woman vote, but if an opponent sees her as a woman, then they are instantly labeled a misogynist. Hang up the ignorant rhetoric.
I might be going out on a limb here, but I suspect Houstons problems have less to do with Conservatives and more about greed ... from everybody.
I'd rather not be lectured about global warming by celebrities that criss-cross the world in their private jets to their multiple mcMansions. I give Stevie Wonder a pass though.
It was on 17 networks the other night. But I did change the channel once it got political. (5 minutes in) Thanks Chowd.
Hey don't hate, I voted for her but only because she was the lesser of 2 evils. I'd vote for Bush II before I vote for her again. The DNC and Hillary deserved to lose by not listening, we wanted change, we wanted Bernie, but the establishment wanted a woman president no matter what the cost.
Can anybody point me to the books written by Romney, Mccain, Kerry, Gore, Dole, Dukakis, Mondale, etc etc where they explained how others are responsible for their loss? I guess Hillary is special.
It is what it is. I'm not talking about Obama or McCain, I'm talking about calling Hillary a b****. And no, she's not being one, either. So you can go ahead and put a pin in your balloon of nonsense.
Calling her a b**** is leaning towards the hate, sir. We wanted Bernie too late. HRC was by far the more preferred candidate up until mid-2016. By then, it was too late. No amount of manipulation would have changed the result that HRC would've gotten the nomination. People often have a short memory of these things. She was BY FAR the candidate everyone wanted on the left. But the right hates her because of past ties, the fact that it would mean 3 consecutive D presidencies, and other reasons which, while a few might be justifiable, are exaggerated. After we get out of all this hoopla, which may take a few years, people will realize that the hatred for Hillary, which emerged to the level it did only in 2016, was very exaggerated. It's just silly, overinflated nonsense where something that Clinton does is magnified 1,000% and something that Trump does is blown off as "eh, people make mistakes." I'm not bothered by it anymore, but it's very apparent. It's the same with the left who were losing their **** over Romney. He was never that bad, even with the 47% and the binders of women. They exaggerated those so ridiculously, it was pathetic. Now Trump? Oh, no, they are justified in criticizing him. He's truly a stupid person. With he himself being the source vs. second-hand sources.
Apparently its ok to call Trump any name, but we must respect Hillary. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. They are both raving lunatics.
Absolutely ridiculous, you're better than that. This is the problem with the Trump supporters. They always try to make this comparison between Clinton and Trump as if they're equal. One of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. I've listened to Clinton, Trump, Obama, Romney, McCain, Bush, Kerry, Gore, Dole, Clinton, Bush, Dukakis, Reagan, Mondale, and Carter umpteen times over the years (I think that covers all Presidents and candidates since 1980). Regardless of their politics, you could tell that each one of them- yes, even Bush- was intelligent. And yes, intelligence is very important to me. I respect Trump as the President. But I call Trump stupid because he says stupid things. If he made it more of a habit to be smart, I'd give him credit. But he continues to maintain the lowest common denominator. I expect more out of my President than that. There are multiple examples of candidates who I would put on the same level, like: Obama and Romney Obama and McCain Bush and Gore Bush and Kerry I can go on... I would say some aren't, like Nixon and McGovern- McGovern was clearly very strange and Nixon relatively normal... until 2 years later. This criticism of Trump didn't just start in 2016- this goes all the way to the birther thing- and even before that, actually. He's been revealing himself to be a complete idiot since then, and he didn't do anything to disprove that. I mean, how many frigging examples do you need here? Jesus, it's not just Clinton... NO ONE is as bad as Trump. The fact that literally the entire world knows this, and roughly half of America, but that half of America puts Trump and Clinton as equally bad, says more about the sad, sad state of America than anything else.
yes I'm sure you voted for her. Hey now I know why Andre3000 is so awesome, because Andre0087 is kind of a defective piece of junk. Your past posts - http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php?search/5749715/&page=4 - you're a conservative Black Democrat socialist Sanders supporter who reads a lot of Infowars and loves guns SEEMS LIKELY
I was a Bernie guy who voted for Hillary for president, but this is annoying. This is not good for the Democrats and it makes her even more unlikable. There can't be rift between your classic Democrats and the progressives.
Calm down, views do change over time. If you could get Congress to agree on just that maybe we would have a functioning government that actually passes legislation.
BTW, it's called being a moderate. Both sides have faults and I won't give me allegiance to either unless they can prove it's deserved.
This will be yesterday's news within a week. It won't affect anything going forward. People are making this into way more of a big deal than it is. SMH.
