http://espn.go.com/nba/playoffs2001/2001/0430/1188842.html Can you find it? Its a good one! ------------------
I just read that before heading back to CC.net. Scottie Pippen showed, once again, that he might qualify as one of the five luckiest NBA players simply by being in the right place (Chicago) at the right time (with MJ). What has he done since? It's true, but not something that hasn't been repeated ad naseum on this board. ------------------ Founder and President of the Houston Homers Club(HHC) - Are you a homer? Join now! The Rockets will be NBA champions. Believe.
Here's another in this decent article on the Blazers... http://espn.go.com/nba/playoffs2001/2001/0426/1186888.html the Pippen bit reads: Pippen complaining over a lack of a defined role in the offense? Scottie, buddy, what have you done since your boy MJ retired? I don't know how the NBA is going to do this in the future, maybe expand it to the Top 75 players of all time, but if they kept it as the Top 50 players of all time, I have a pretty good guess that Pip would be, well, reassigned. And is it just me, or does it seem more than just a coincidence that Scottie is now complimenting Michael -- and ripping Kobe at the same time -- because Michael seems to be coming back to play next season? I'm going to start calling him Dorothy Pippen because it's only a matter of time before he breaks out in a rendition of, "I'm off to see the Wizards." ------------------
I guess the Pippen trade wasn't so bad, we got Walt Williams. That made Calvin Murphy happy. It would have been better if we got Horry for Pippen so Scottie could start dissing Kobe and Shaq when they lose. ------------------
I wish that they could have got Jermaine O'neal instead of sorry ass Kato in that Pippen deal. ------------------ Really a member since March 1999.
And we might as well let Kobe get <a href="http://espn.go.com/nba/playoffs2001/2001/0502/1190454.html">his two cents' worth</a> in: "I have no problem at all with Scottie," Bryant said at the Los Angeles Lakers' training facility. "I don't know him as a person. He tried to do everything in his power to help his team win. He failed miserably." With that, the assembled media burst into laughter. (On edit: Ooops ... didn't realize this comment already had a thread to itself in the other forum!) ------------------ [This message has been edited by Swopa (edited May 03, 2001).]
