You know you've hit the pinnacle when you get a longboard for a trophy.

Props to Budinger. Took advantage of his other talents and being recognized for it. Most NBA players who've "hit rock bottom" would prefer to complain and go to the D League the rest of their careers. This guy took a whole different path and could possibly make the Summer Olympics (not saying he could, but I'm sure if he's good enough he could)

It seemed like that to me, as well. That he took the NBA path because it was more lucrative, but that what he really loved was beach volleyball. Bud was and is, apparently, very good at it. What’s not to like? Playing in front of adoring chicks in bikinis on beautiful beaches. I don’t doubt that he trains hard, but it’s nothing compared to the work needed to be an NBA player and stay in the league, in my opinion. I’m glad he’s enjoying himself. Gotta say I wish I was his age, doing what he’s doing for a living. Instead, I’m retired, tapping at a keyboard at the moment, thinking about going to a beach on an island for a vacation. Sure is appealing. ;-)

No one in the history of this planet has ever looked so much like they should be playing beach volleyball.

This was always his true calling. It was never bricking threes and timid drives.
