I wonder if he would be open to signing for the minimum.
I actually don't want him unless he promises not to hold onto the ball or dibble for more than 4 seconds at a time.
Why would you say this? I posted it before the one in the GARM. I didn't feel it belonged there because he isn't a Rocket.
Magic working on Turkoglu buyout The Magic are working on a buyout agreement with Hedo Turkoglu. As expected, Turkoglu and the team have been trying to arrange a buyout with the 13-year veteran small forward. He does not figure into the team's rebuilding plans at age 34. Only half of his $12 million salary for next season — the last year of his contract — is guaranteed. If the Magic and Turkoglu can reach an arrangement, Turk will be waived. He then can become a free agent, eligible to negotiate with any other NBA team or play overseas. There are reports that Turkoglu has an offer with a team in his native Turkey if he decides not to stay in the NBA or is unable to sign a deal. Can Pelister of TrendBasket.com, citing unnamed sources, reports that Istanbul-based Fenerbahce Ulker of the EuroLeague has offered Turkoglu $3.4 million for next season. Turkoglu, in his second stint with the Magic, posted career lows in most categories after an injury-plagued 11-game season in which he was suspended 20 games for using anabolic steroids.
Would love to have him for 20 mins a game backing up Parsons and Harden. Can facilitate and shoot the three.
We already have like 19 guaranteed contracts on the roster. Not EVERY Free Agent should be picked up by the Rockets, you know.
Thank god Carl hasn't found this thread yet.. I hate hedo for this team if he continues his downward spiral of form
That would 20 minutes of horrible defense, while his offensive skills are going downhill. I really liked Hedo, but he's way past his prime.
He has been playing for bad teams, much like Omri. I think he could be useful in a 6 man kind of role. He would be much needed depth and ball handling in that second unit.
3.4 mil... not too shabby. And if this is after taxes and agent fees, as is typical for Euro contract reporting, then it would be equivalent to an ~7 mil NBA salary.
Sign him for 1 year vet min and let him compete. If he doesn't have it anymore it only cost Les a little over a mill. If he does still have it, it could be the player that hits the game winning 3s
well, he definitely would pass your threshold. The average time he holds is 2.9 seconds, 30% less than you claimed.
